SINGER 2131E All Purpose Machine Oil, 4-Fluid Ounces

My sewing machine works so much better after using this oil, but I found out the hard way that even if it is closed, the oil will leak out if it falls onto its side.

This for an antique, abused treadle working again. The machine was seized up. After using this oil very liberally it now works again and Im sewing with it. This oil also works great for cleaning treadle machines. There was more than enough oil to do all of that.

I have a 75 year old fan the fan motor has three small oil cups. It does not take 3 in one or any motor oil, only Singer all purpose machine oil. With the proper oil, Singer all purpose machine oil, I have been told the fan will last another 75 years or more!!

I ordered this oil specifically for oiling my collectable knives, at the joints. Works well.

The foldable tip is great. I would make it longer, hence 4 stars. Is was difficult to oil in some parts. Overall I like it.

Great oil big size bottle . Great oil but singer 9960 manual says no need to oil machine lol ! A first for me all machines I know had to be oiled .

Although, back in the day when I had a sewing machine I used Singer oil for its original purpose, I bought this to lubricate my bread machine shaft. I turned over my bread pan, used the red spout on the bottle to place two drops on the shaft, rotated it, and wiped off the excess. Note: this machine oil not edible and should be used only on parts that dont come into contact with food. This oil can be used for many different machines other than sewing machines because it withstands heat well. The oil is clear and only viscous enough to dispense single drops which then spread out into gears, shafts, etc. -- Debbie Lee Wesselmann

I had a bottle of this oil somewhere and could not find it so made the purchase. I use it mainly on my archery equipment like the target sight that has very fine threaded components, where you dont want something heavier like the old 3-in-1 oil that might pick up dust and/or smell...well, like oil. This oil is thin and pretty much odorless. Aside from the reason I purchased it, it is a good general purpose, albeit light, oil to have around for lubricating fine machinery type components where you dont want dust to collect. I suppose you could use it on sewing machines too. In my opinion its one of the best in its class. Plus I like the dispensing bottle it comes in. It does not leak all over the place if you say keep it on its side in a toolbox like I do.
