What a magnificent imagination this author has. I love the idea of being able to travel to dream land as I wished to be able to do that when I was a kid. The characters were likable and spoke the way children actually speak. It did not sound like an adult trying to speak, kid. I was also impressed when the author chose to make one character switch from a he to a she, back and forth. At first I thought he had made a mistake but I soon realized it was quite intentional and found out why, later in the book. I love it when I cant predict it all. I also thoroughly enjoyed the stories inside the story by Jake. Jake was known to be an off the cuff great story teller and would get many requests to do so. He was even requested to do so to receive the book that was vital to the conquering of the nightmare in the dreamland. Just another example of this authors fantastic story telling ability. I found myself drawn in to this story each night when I picked it up. I actually looked forward to snuggling in to bed under the covers and continuing to read. It was like a little fantasy vacation to some far off distant land and I could leave all the problems of this world behind as I traveled with those trying to conquer the nightmare and repair dream land for those in dream land as well as our own. I cant believe this is an indie author. He writes exceptionally well, the story was well defined, it flowed beautifully and I could not find a single flaw in it all. I dont say this very often about books but this was simply brilliant. I can even see this being made in to a movie...easily. This will definitely appeal to a younger crowd, no doubt, but it is also enjoyable for the older crowd as well. To the author: Bravo. You did wonderfully and I look forward to more from you in the future. The only reason I gave this 4 stars is because I got an earlier version that had a small formatting issue. Every so often, the font size would change and I would be ripped out of the story until I upped the font size or decreased the font size on my Kindle. The author has stated that he has done some fine tuning to the book so hopefully that issue was resolved and anyone buying this book now or in the future will have a nice, clean version.

This is a wonderful story of fantasy with a splash of evil and an air of mystery. It keeps your interest until the very last page. The book is well written with the authors own unique vision of dreamland through a childs sometimes fearful, sometimes brave eyes. Your own will twinkle with the visions he creates through his words. I really enjoyed the book and look forward to the possibility of a sequal? Heres hoping!

I thought Sleepwalker: the Last Sandman was very well written and incredibly entertaining. This indie author is bursting with talent. I understand this is a YA book but it is tremendously enjoyable for adults as well. The story itself was interesting and fun. It was a sort of story in a story, but did not get unnecessarily complicated or confusing. The book takes place in two different worlds and again, it was not confusing. Also, it was easy to envision the dream world from all the descriptions. The characters were all fully developed and not flat or two dimensional at all. I liked everything about this book - story, characters and their development, vivid descriptions, and great imagination. My favorite parts of the book were when Jake would tell a story. They were captivating tales and they fit right into the story. Well done, Brad Marlowe. I sincerely hope that there is another book in the works.

This book was an absolute page turner! The authors writing blurs the line between fantasy and modern day reality in such an imaginative way and keeps the reader excited for the next chapter. Brad Marlowes storytelling is top notch and never ceases to captivate his audience. Every place, character, and motion is described so vividly, it feels as if you are there in the book. The characters are written in a very believable fashion. From the mannerisms of the children to the rationale of the adults, it is evident that Brad Marlowe is talented in fleshing out every character so well. I loved everything about Sleepwalker: The Last Sandman. It has the feel of a Harry Potter or Percy Jackson book while still being original and exciting. Definitely a great read and looking forward to more from Brad Marlowe.

I will start by saying that I love to read indies and I purchased this work solely based on a post by the author on the discussion boards. The price was definitely right and the blurb seemed interesting enough. While I dont normally fancy myself a fantasy reader, I decided to give it a shot. I can say, without a doubt, this book is among the top 5 that I have ever read by any indie that I have found! I am so glad that Mr. Marlowe took the opportunity to make a post and suck me into the Land of Nod. This little work of art was amazingly well written, Mr. Marlowe made his world build up around me and I found myself totally immersed in it. I wanted to be there and I am happy that I went! This was one of those works that touches you in all of the ways that you want a story to touch you. A fabulous tale of commitment, love, dreaming (and keeping your dreams alive) and I can only say that I found myself sad when it was over. This is the type of story that, young or old, parent or not, you find yourself connected to thanks to Mr. Marlowes beautiful ability to tether you with his words. If I could, I would stand and applaud this writers efforts and his willingness to share this thing of beauty with all of us. I wholeheartedly give this book 5 stars and HIGHLY recommend everyone take the opportunity to read it. You will be happy that you did, I know I am.

I bought this book for my Kindle because I thought my 13 year old daughter might be interested in it. And, I like a little fantasy myself. I have to say that Ive never read a book quite like this. If youve seen The Never Ending Story or Alice in Wonderland, this book is similar to those tales. It was kind of weird, the day after I saw Tim Burtons Alice in Wonderland, I came to the part of this book where Alice appears. I really enjoyed the book. Its very well written and has a great message without being too preachy. The characters are very interesting. There are times when the stories within the stories can get a little confusing as we have a father reading a bedtime story to his children about their grandfathers adventures which include him as a child. The book also felt a little long to me for a kind of light hearted story. And, while a shorter version might be appropriate for children, there were a couple of passages that got pretty intense and Im not sure Id want my younger daughter (10) to read. All in all, it was a fun read and I would definitely recommend the book.

Im not very good at writing reviews. What can I say? I really enjoyed The Last Sandman. I wasnt so sure at the beginning of this book, there was a little confusion over who was narrating the story. However, this confusion was quickly cleared up. The story sucked me right in, and I was disappointed to see it end. The author was great at making his imaginary characters seem believable. I hope there will be a sequel in the near future. Without giving away spoilers, I have to say Id really like to see Jake and his familys adventures expanded, and Id also like to see Coles twins share their own adventures as they enter the land of Nod. This story has so much potential. As a side note, this is one reason why I love my Kindle and Amazon so much. They introduce me to a world of indie authors like Brad Marlowe, a world I had no connection with before I bought my Kindle! Thanks for a wonderful read, Brad, and I hope to see more of your work!
