SONY Cfexpress Tough Memory Card

Ich habe zwei dieser Speicherkarten für meine Nikon Z9 bestellt. Die Z9 schafft damit rd 70 Bilder im H* RAW Modus, was mir als Hochzeitsfotograf mehr als ausreichen würde. Geschwindigkeitstechisch schafft sie bei (am ehesten realistischen 64GB Daten) 924MB/s was schon ganz ordentlich ist (Testaufbau: ProGrade CFexpress Reader via USB-C an meinem 3.1 Port direkt am Motherboard mit entsprechend für 3.1 ausgelegten, kurzen Kabel). Im Vergleich dazu habe ich auch noch eine ProGrade Gold 128GB und eine Angelbird AV Pro SX160 Karte getestet. Die ProGrade war wirklich mies, die schaffte lediglich 150MB/s im Schnitt (bei max. angegeben 1400MB/s) und die Angelbird schaffte ähnlich viel wie die Sony, aber im Schitt ca. 10-20MB/s darunter. Da ich mich leider von einem schlecht recherchierten YouTube Video irreführen hab lassen, habe ich dann im Endeffekt die Sony Karten zurück geschickt und bin auf die Angelbird aufgrund vermeindlich noch schnelleren Schreibgeschwindigkeiten umgestiegen. Dem war jedoch nicht so. Für meine Anwendung aber noch immer mehr als ausreichend, dennoch würde ich beim nächsten Kauf definitiv die etwas günstigeren und zugleich etwas schnelleren Sony Tough Karten nehmen. Wenigstens hab ich hier in Österreich regional eingekauft, denn Angelbird kommt aus Vorarlberg. ;-)

This is a fast card format. Transferring pictures off the card often happens before the progress indicator even appears. Its a fair bit more expensive than SD, though, but also a fair bit faster.

Maybe this is equally applicable to all brands, but the card gets very warm.

The cards plug in and work. Adobe Bridge doesnt work with cf express cards at this time. They work fine with lightroom. Ive spent hours on the phone with adobe support and they are aware of the problem.

The card ended up failing with some of my images being corrupted. Tried to recover the files but could not.

I bought the CF Express card to use with my Nikon D850 after a firmware upgrade that allowed its use. Ive been using it here in there as a replacement for an XQD card. No issues with image transfer; in fact quite fast for large image transfer (no video use for me so far). My travels tend to take me to national parks and forests where I hike with that SLR camera. Will report if theres any issues with the hundreds of images that I tend to capture in the course of a day.
