You have to break in the tool because the one probes are not smooth. Everything else is perfect.

There is some confusion in the reviews of the device about testing for grounded outlets. I am sorry to report but this device will NOT tell you if you have a properly grounded outlet. It will simply tell you if there is enough of an electrical connection from the hot prong of the outlet to the ground prong of the outlet to light a small lamp. Ideally, when the lamp is lit, there is a nice piece of copper wire that runs from the ground of the outlet all the way back to the electrical panel. In older homes, the extra copper wire for ground did not exist, only a hot and neutral wire was run to the outlet. To properly upgrade the outlet so that it has a good equipment ground, the extra wire has to be added (a painful, time-consuming, and expensive process which often requires a complete replacement of the old wires with new).
