I have parrots and have purchased heavier metal parrot bells for them in the past. However, this bell I intentionally purchased for use as a dog bell on my front door, after having a repurposed a parrot bell in the past for this use. It works well as a dog door bell! Its light enough to not mar the door and heavy enough so that my boxers do not damage it or pull it down when they bang on it. They chain is actually the perfect length, as well, for my purposes. The bell is loud enough, but not too loud. Probably the perfect sound for a parrot bell. As a dog bell, it might have been be a little better if it was a bit louder so that the sound would travel longer distances in the house. I can still hear it, but dont always readily notice it in the areas farthest from the door.

My Congo African Grey parrot loves this toy. Its bird-safe and easy to clean and it makes a pleasant sound.

Beautiful bell, makes a lovely tinkle when my Amazon rings it. Higher pitched than his cowbell he has. Very nice quality too.

Definitely sized best for small cockatoos and smaller. Might want a slightly bigger bell for the bigger birds. They would enjoy it better.

This is exactly as described & a great toy for my parrot. She immediately went to it & began ringing it & is so happy. I will now purchase several more to have in her areas of the house. My parrot is an Eclectus, which is about the size of an African Grey. This is also a great Seller who almost immediately mailed it to me & I received the package within a couple of days. Our bird loves bells, and it always breaks the bells. This bell our bird has had for several months now and it lovessss it.

My sun conure loves it. It keeps him busy so he screams less.
