Listing and package says stainless. I wet it and let it over night. Pictures show serious amounts of rust by the next morning. If you used this as an animal barrier outside, it would make a huge messy stain.

I purchased this steel wool because it specified that it was made to keep rats and mice out of my house. Evidently they didnt get the message because the rats simply push it aside and continue to chew holes in my baseboards.

Worked perfect went right in place. No more have to replace it with steel since this is stainless steel wont have to bother with it again great stuff

The product is advertised as being made of high-quality metal fiber, similar to wool, which is supposed to be soft, thick, and flexible. While it does have those qualities, its disheartening to see how quickly it rusts. Additionally, it claims that small animals cant chew through the steel fibers, but what good is that if the steel wool itself is prone to rusting and deterioration? Furthermore, the listing mentions that the steel wool can be easily cut to the desired size with ordinary scissors, which is true. However, it fails to mention the importance of wearing gloves when handling it. The steel fibers can cause injury if not handled with care, and this vital information should have been included in the description. Overall, I find this product to be misleading and not up to the standards I expected. It is not stainless steel as advertised, and the rusting issue makes it unsuitable for long-term use. They charge you more for stainless steel and then it rusts. Stainless steel doesnt rust. By the time you get rust marks dripping down your new house paint, the return window is just slightly passed. Typical Amazon.
