> 3 dayO.K. I am new to embroidery and I ordered this at the same time I ordered my machine. I am sure that it is a fine product for those who have some experience and actually know what they need. This is not the product for a newbie. I didnt realize that it would be so thin. After reading the reviews (I know, should have read them first) it sounds like it should be used on top and that a thicker stabilizer should be used on the bottom. Still learning.....

Greater than one weekSulky has always made reliable products, and this is not an exception. I always use single layers on top of medium-weight fabric and two or three layers on top of terry cloth and have been very satisfied with the results. Bits and pieces of this stabilizer can be dissolved in water (with a little alcohol to ward off mold) and brushed on thin cottons for stability. Let it dry thoroughly before embroidering. The brushing on and drying technique can be done several times to stiffen thin fabrics. I always test on a scrap of fabric first to make sure no water marks stain the fabric.

> 3 dayMy favorite water soluble stabilizer for fabric embroidery projects that are washable such as these little angel ornaments. It’s a quality product that’s easy to use yet is string enough for delicate machine embroidery.

> 3 dayI use this almost exclusively for doing FSL (Free Standing Lace) embroidery. I have excellent results using this product. It holds up well and dissolves clean afterwards with warm to hot water. At 12 wide it wont fit my largest hoop but other than that, it works great.

18-04-2025Sulky always has great products. This one is a bit lighter weight than Im used to, but overall is an excellent product. Its great for light weight stabalizing and for free standing lace embroideries.

> 3 daythis light-weight stabilizer is great stuff, especially when paired with Sulky thread and embroidering on lighter material... what i like about this stabilizer is: - its water soluble - you can rip and tear the entire sheet off your work with no snipping! - its on a convenient roll - great for small workspaces

Greater than one weekI love how strong this stabilizer is. I had a friend that asked me to machine embroider poems on some handkerchiefs for her for her wedding. I remembered that I used this before for some free standing lace projects I was doing and decided to give it a try. I used a different stabilizer on the back and this on the front. It worked great. It gave the fabric the extra stabilization that it really needed and then easily washed away.

> 3 dayI like this product and it dose a good job. I only have one issue with it, on long nape fabrics (swirl minkie) it tends to tear along the needle line that has all ready been embroidered. It removes easy and holds up well when you set it up and stretch out the wrinkles in the hoop. All in all its a good product and I will most likely purchase it again.

> 3 dayUse this Sulky Solvy Water Soluble stabilizer whenever you are machine embroidering anything with a nap, like towels, fleece, etc. The solvy holds the nap down while the machine embroiders so there is not poke thorough of fabric while embroidering. If you have a baste-in-the-hoop function on your embroidery machine, you should baste this down on top of your hooped fabric and stabilizer. If you are embroidering stand alone lace designs, you will want to hoop at least two layers, depending on the density of your design. Most of the time the extra stabilizer just pulls away from the stitches when you are done. I would recommend removing as much excess stabilizer as you can before washing your finished product. It is easy to use, and is a light film. When washed it is completely gone from your embroidery. Every machine embroidery owner needs a good water soluble stabilizer and Sulky has one here.
