Susan Bates 5-1/2-Inch Bamboo Handle Silvalume Head Crochet Hook, 8mm, Silver Pink (13206-L 11)

The hook has a but on it that can cause the yarn to fray. I wish I had tried the hook earlier so I could return it. It’s too late now. :(

I love all of Susan bates crochet hooks. They are by far the best I have used and trust me I have tried them all, from the cheapest to the all wood, to the aluminum...do yourself a favor and buy these; you will be so pleasantly surprised and happy

These are my favorite hooks. The handles keep my hand from cramping when I crochet for long periods of time. Always smooth gliding

Giving all one stars because this is not the hook that was sent to me. Sent was an 8in size L hook. I ordered the 5 1/2 in hook which is either àn h or k size. Going to keep but disappointed.

I needed this size hook for a particular pattern, but I have to admit, I do not like the bamboo handle. It just isnt very comfortable to hold for me. The metal hook part is nice -- the yarn seems to glide over it. Ill keep using this one, comfortable or not, since its not a size I use that often... or maybe Ill come to like it better in time.

I am on the fence with these. I have used and loved Susan Bates hooks the entire time I have crocheted and have never had an issue. These, however, have got me wondering. I purchased 4 different sizes and each have the same problem. The Susan Bates hooks I had been using doesnt have the bamboo handles and they are different from these. For example, the heads of the bamboo handle hooks are more rounded and the throats arent as smooth so the yarn doesnt slide smoothly. You can clearly see the grooves in the bamboo handled hooks. I love the bamboo handles, Im just not crazy with the difference in the heads and throats of them when both are supposed be be inline. I have attached pictures to show the difference compared with my original Susan Bates hooks.

I love Susan Bates inline hooks. This one is even better because it is comfortable in my hand.
