Susan Bates 5-1/2-Inch Bamboo Handle Silvalume Head Crochet Hook, 8mm, Silver Pink (13206-L 11)

I’ve been crocheting forever and am used to the way Susan bates hooks hook. I can’t use the other brands as fast, and as I get older it’s harder to hold the skinner hooks. The bamboo holder makes it easier to hold and I still have my favorite style of hook.

Ive only just started using this crochet hook, but so far it is working just fine. Im crocheting a hat with Medium weight yarn. I will say that the actual hook part doesnt seem that deep and my yarn slips out often, but maybe it is because I havent used a large crochet hook before. I think the largest I have used before is F. Its doing the job though.

The larger handle really makes a difference. Its flattened on the end of the hook, so it feels a little different pulling the yarn than my other standard hooks, but I think its comfort makes up for the difference. I will most likely upgrade all my hooks at some point.

These are my favorite hooks. The handles keep my hand from cramping when I crochet for long periods of time. Always smooth gliding

I absolutely love these crochet hooks. The Susan Bates are my favorites to start with, but these are really nice to the fingers. Great product

I really like this hook. I tried it for the comfort, it worked for me. Besides I really needed another hook in this size to add to the 13 I have. ☺️

I am an avid, experienced crocheter. I am used to using the regular, cheap, aluminum hooks you find at the stores. They make my hands tired and I get cramps from crocheting. I bought a few of these in various sizes - the bamboo handles are awesome! They use the heat from my hand and reflect it back, so it keeps my hands from aching. The hook is light weight, and the handle is a little wider than a normal aluminum hook, so its way more comfortable! The head of the hook is sawed style - not rounded - if that matters to you - some prefer one over the other - Im still on the fence (I know.... one would think I would have decided after 14 years of crocheting, but I havent decided). I have tried to collect a complete set of these, but I cant seem to find a few sizes - I wish I could find them all in one large set. I only just found a set of 14 for around 40$ with S&H, which is a little cheaper than buying them at around 5$ per hook, but its from an external site (not on amazon) and Im picky who I buy through - for security reasons. Hopefully Amazon will sell sets of these, soon! I definitely recommend this product! Happy Crocheting!!

I was so excited to use this, until it arrived. Its very lightweight, but the metal itself is not smooth. I have to wonder if its a knockoff?
