> 24 hourWould probably give it 5 stars, but my 30 year old Amazon hates it and will not go near it. So I really cannot say whether its good or bad. It looks sturdy and it is thick, but not sure how to convince my parrot that it is a good addition.

> 24 hourPerfect for my grey. I very highly recommend this perch. The top is slightly textured but gentle on soft foot pads, while the sides help manage toenails. I haven’t had to clip toenails since getting this kind of perch. Since my grey cusses at me when doing nails, that is probably for the best. They last forever and are easy to clean. Definitely worth the cost. Just be forewarned the shape is....interesting. But not as noticeable in the cage.

> 24 hourEvery time they landed on me it felt like they were stabbing me with needles lol So this was NEEDED and helps a lot. I had to desensitize my parakeets around it first, which is to be expected for most birds. I did this by giving them treats close to or around the perch until they got comfortable with it and associated it with positive triggers. I dont push it so it took around a week. The sandpaper part is only along the sides so it doesnt hurt the sensitive parts of their feet. I only have 1 in the cage to make sure they have the option not to be on it just in case which has worked for us.

> 24 hourMy parakeets didn’t want to use it, and I’m glad, because the “sand”/rough bits seem too big to me for their feet. I think they could get hurt on it, even though it’s not all around. Looks better for bigger birds.

> 24 hourAre the bars in your cage vertical or horizontal at the spot where you want the perch? It has a fixed mount so that it needs to sit on a horizontal bar with a specific amount of space between the bars. Doesnt work in my cage. The bird stands where there is no pumice. It fit in his travel cage, with the added benefit of being a bit larger in diameter that most perches. It is a nice change for stance. Check all of the dimensions before you buy it.
