Greater than one weekHave watched it multiple times. Love the concept and seeing otherwise unrelated literary characters together in one movie. It does seem somewhat labored in places, but I don’t remember perceiving it that way the first time I watched it.

> 3 daySean Connery truly shines as an older Allan Quartermain. Ive loved all of Haggards characters for years, and I found no fault with his character. I know some purists have a thing about vampires in the daylight, but let me remind you forgetful individuals: BRAM STOKER WROTE ABOUT VAMPIRES IN THE DAYLIGHT!!!! Jonathan Harker sees Count Dracula in braod daylight (well, it WAS London, maybe not so broad). Anyone raised on Disneys 20,000 Leagues movie was probably a bit confused by the appearance of the Nautilus, but this design is probably far more in keeping with the time period than the Disney design. I never was a big fan of Mr. Hyde, or of The Invisible Man, so Ill not comment on them, except that I found Hydes characterization interesting. I thought Dorian Gray was well done, if not perfect. That leaves Moriarty. Doyles madman would certainly have been capable of the plots of this man, but I believe that he would have been far more subtle, and I dont think he would have given Dorians picture back. It would have been just TOO intriguing for him. The only disappointment I had in the DVD was the lack of the ending that I saw in the theaters, where Quartermains hand rises from his grave to grip the rifle. DOES ANYONE ELSE REMEMBER THAT???? Sometimes I think Im going crazy.

> 3 dayCombining a scattered cast of literary characters, League of Extraordinary Gentleman brings together Alexander Quartermain, Dr. Jekyll, Dorian Gray, Tom Sawyer, and several others to combat a burgeoning evil force: a man of modern science. With breathtaking physical effects, mixed with a tasteful CGI, this 90s classic stands the test of time well compared to modern graphics-heavy films. The plots arent overly complex, but neither are they predictable. I highly recommend watching the film

> 3 dayI think this was Sean Connerys last movie and it was done very well. The characters are laid out well, but you need to understand some classic literature to understand where they are coming from, so read up. However, the storyline flows well and I would recommend sitting down for an evening and watching this.

> 3 dayOne of my favorite live-action steampunk movies, these gentlemen and the Lady Harker (I guess thats not poetic enough for a title, even though she is a great character and invaluable team member) will entertain you. The actors are at the top of their game, the interaction and action is top-notch, and the story is engaging and fun. Do yourself a favor and dont read the spoiler reviews - just buy and watch this movie.

> 3 dayI truly dont understand all the hate for this film... I thoroughly enjoyed it... marvelous action, sfx and storyline bringing classic heroes and villains from some of the best literature and all the actors were at peak performance... maybe it was too cerebral for some or maybe the distribution just dropped the ball... regardless, to me, this is a dont miss and after at least a half dozen viewings, it holds well... right up there with several other undeservedly panned wonderful films like other real favorites... Mystery Men, the Rocketeer, Disneys Atlantis and Treasure Planet and John Carter of Mars... I think the critics blew it, Im sure Ill be watching again
