The Rug Hookers Bible: The Best From 30 Years Of Jane Olsons Ruggers Roundtable

This is a great, step by step, instructional manual. The directions are easy to understand and the many pictures really show whats supposed to happen. This book has helped me more than the rug hooking classes Ive taken.

I am collecting books on rug hooking and this one is a favorite. It has lots of pictures and information for all levels of expertise. You wont be disappointed with this book.

Very informative for a starter

Having done minimal rug hooking and not having time to attend classes, I thought from the reviews that this book might be just what I needed......and it is! Very clear instructions, excellent photos and illustrations!

The first 3 chapters alone are worth the purchase if you are a new rug hooker. The remainder of the book is a very good reference.

What a wonderful book . the color photos are great. Gene is a wonderful hooker and his mentor Jane Olsen was a wonderful hooker and teacher. If you can only buy one book this should be it.

This is the most awesome, complete and clear rug hooking book you could find. Gene Shepherd its absolutely amazing!!! The book is full of close-up pictures showing all the basic techniques, step by step, with detailed explanations. A bit of history is also included as well as different styles of hooking the same motif. Theres a big section with directions, color photos and diagrams of the most common designs in rugs, like flowers, fruits and landscapes. It also includes a pattern of roses in original size. Its a wonderful book, full of tips and lovely designs. If I had bought it earlier Id have saved a lot of money, this is by far the best Ive read. If you want to buy just one book this is the one!
