I started EC with my son when he was 2 months old. Its nearly impossible to catch his urine as there is no splash guard. I never used the fabric as it would get soiled each time I used it. I feel as though I paid $25 for a plastic bucket. It was fine for catching poops at first, but he very quickly became more squirmy and the top hat was just too unstable. I switched to the mini potty at around 3.5 months, and I wish I would have just skipped the top hat altogether and saved myself the money.

I was serious trying the EC for my newborn for weeks, after watching so many YouTube videos endorsing it. But I tried and failed hard. I was cloth diapering my newborn boy and logging every pee and poo. He poops 10 times per day and pees over 20 times per day. So I decided to start maybe just during feeding. It turned out that this is just impossible to use for boys. Healthy boys have their hoses in the front of their bodies, it is just impossible to catch pee and poo the same time. My baby would scream if we hold him upright by the thigh. Then I read more about EC failure stories and found out that EC may cause harm and mess up babys elimination sensation and natural development, actually causing harm in some babies. It was stupid of me to believe in their marketing.

Misleading item title. I expected to receive the potty, cozy, and band and instead just received the cozy. Very disappointed.

I wasnt sure if I needed this over just a bowl for EC but got it and definitely glad I did! My newborn chunked up fast so its much easier resting her on the potty than holding her over a bowl. I also love the curve that helps catch the pee (make sure to tip the potty towards you like it says in the video!) I will say that I wish it came with a cover that could snap onto the top once theres pee in it! I think I would feel more comfortable bringing it on outings if it had that ...

To be honest I love this potty hat! I barely use the cloth thing around the rim, my baby is okay without it. I definitely recommend this to the new mommies who are looking to do EC with their baby.

I was excited to receive this for my daughter but it is missing the rubber band.

Some reviews are stating that they got just the cozy, which made me weary of buying but I received everything! Excited to give it a try! Perfect size for a newborn for EC!
