Purchased as a gift, item arrived as described. Wood appears to be solid and good quality. Unsure about absorption using a coaster because it was a gift.

Very nice coaster set, although the wood was splintered on one of them.

Gifted this to my boyfriend as we have both moved away from Texas. He loves it! Its lightweight and appears well made. He hasnt used it yet but excited too when he gets a coffee table and can! Will update if anything changes. Thank you for a great and unique product!

The product is well made and sturdy. I bought this as a gift for my friend who live in another country and they really love it. It was a really thoughtful gift and worth the money.

It would be better if the pieces and storage box come with a backing such as cork, silicone, etc. Putting the pieces on any hard surface such as glass, stone countertops can make some sound. If you add any backing to them now, the stack becomes too tall for the storage box. They are OK for now but dont know over time, the bamboo would warp or split.
