I originally bought the HBN brand because it was a few bucks cheaper. But after 20 minutes and a call to Tech Support because their instructions were TERRIBLE, they told me wont work with your network, sorry, return if for a refund.... Got this in todays mail, had it installed and working in under 5 minutes. The App is easy to install, easy to find-and-configure devices, and brain-dead easy to use : Switch #1: Printer: Tap to turn on, now on, tap to turn off. perfect and still only about $2 more than the PITA one. Im VERY happy Now I just need to find more uses for it so I can justify more than just the 2 pack i got!

I absolutely love these plugs! They work with Wi-Fi without having to worry about a 2.4 GHz connection like most other wireless plugs. The app is very user-friendly, and the scheduling features gave me peace of mind when I traveled across the country during the holidays. I love it so much that I even continued scheduling lamps to go off and on while I am home. Google home integration was also a breeze. It’s also fun to play games on other people in the house by turning things off and on from another room.

First, Amazon is selling 2 different products on this same page. If you buy the 2-pack, youre going to bet a completely different plug from the 1-pack. I own some of the ones sold here in the 1-pack and theyre just fine. I just got the 2-pack which, again, IS A DIFFERENT PRODUCT and the one Im reviewing here. 2 plugs in a box with ZERO instructions. The box DOES says you should download the Tapo app. I did and was able to connect the plug to the wifi network with little problem. The problem comes in trying to do Echo/Alexa integration. Echo seems to want you to use the TP-Link app. I could never get it to recognize the plug. Might be able to do a hard reset of the plug, but no directions on how to do that. Holding the button down until the LED behavior changes doesnt help.
