Do yourself a favor and get one of the flat ones. The antennae inside is literally a two inch or so long aluminum rod, the reception is far worse than others I’ve used no matter how I positioned it.

I think that it is time for man to seperate himself from the ignorance of the modern mind and move toward the source of our existence ... Not away from it.

This is a great math series for our homeschooling, using it with the accompanying TextBooks and also the Tests books (4A and 4B). We have used this series for most elementary math years along with supplementing along with the Carson Dellosa series occasionally and also the Singapore Math Extra Practices as needed. If this book series would give enough space to work out all the problems in the book, I would give it 5 stars, but the fractions practices often are not large enough. This is a common problem in most math books, but if they want 5 stars thats what it would take from me. The Tests books can be found on Singaporemath.com and also cbd.com and are very helpful too. I personally attended schools in Japan and Korea as a kid and when I moved here my math scores were very high comparatively so I trust Asian books and feel this series has been very helpful but does need a lot of math teaching to the student daily which should be expected.

I love the Singapore math workbooks and methods of teaching math.

My son and I use Singapore Primary Math as homeschoolers and it is a great system. It gets right to it and doesnt waste time with too much busy work. They use multiple ways of teaching math concepts so it works for various learning styles. The pictures are simple, but effective. I find it relatively intuitive myself. The only issue we ever really seem to have is very occasionally we will encounter a bit of instruction in the book that doesnt quite seem to make sense to either of us. I suspect this is a translation issue and it is fairly infrequent. Singapore Math doesnt spend tons of time on each concept which may be an issue for some students who might need extra time to really get it. This is why they have extra books at each level for extra practice, so if you have a student who needs that extra work - dont despair. If you dont know where to start, their website has useful placement tests readily available. [...] I would most definitely recommend these books!

Theophile Obenga has been one of my favorite Egyptologists as of late. His method is different because rather than taking things that have been generally accepted as true in the community, he does his work from the ground up and ensures these things are true, as well as finding possible other explanations. He draws information from other communities and other countries in a way I havent seen done before, and its really interesting, He also speaks does his translations himself so you can ensure that they are based on his knowledge of the language and not just what the other Egyptologists have said.
