I went from a 4 year old netgear wireless router in my closet in the corner of my house to a Unify 6 LR and a Unify 6 Pro mounted on my ceiling and meshed together. I had better coverage with my linksys. I have 2 bars 10 feet away from either AP. Some devices just straight up wont connect.

The it was easy to adopt and configure using UDM Pro. but the signal is weak and it was from the August 2022 batch that had the advisory problem of sparks due to shielded ethernet cables and earthing so it had to be returned.

Ordered 2 of these, for 2 of our locations. Worked as needed, would order again

I have over 30 wireless devices and this AP dosnt even flinch at it. It runs about 5% CPU while I have all connected and 3 TVs streaming. Range doubled from the AC Pro and I get much faster speeds on my ax (Wi-Fi 6) devices.

Ubiquiti makes some great products in general. The speed tests are far better than anything Ive purchased to this point. Packaging is primo and delivery is quick. Install is a breeze as long as you are using UniFi consoles. Support is questionable, but the review is of the hardware and not support.

Do not buy this. They do not provide any instructions on how to set this up. In order to set up an Access Point, you at least have to provide a way of accessing the UI for the first time. Ubiquiti does not. You cannot connect to the through its IP from the LAN. Downloading the Ubiquiti app also does not allow you to access the UI following the instructions on Ubiquitis website.

I am an IT expert, my main network is all manually managed Mikrotik products including multiple POE switches, >3 access points, and multiple routers. I decided to see what the fuss was about for Ubiquiti and purchased this to setup at a remote location, in order to truly use all of the features you need deploy their controller software to manage the device...perhaps the controller doesnt need to be running 24/7 to operate, but it really is needed to manage or diagnose the network. This is a bit of a bummer and definitely makes this for more advanced users only, at least Mikrotik can be configured 100% of every feature with a web browser, an iOS app, or a Windows based app (that works perfectly in Wine on Mac/Linux). It wouldnt be as bad if you could actually build a full network with Mikrotik and use the controller to manage the firewall/router, and perhaps some day you can...but today most all Ubiquiti hardware isnt even available to purchase unless you pay scalper prices. This AP is WiFi 6, and it does offer some improvement in performance over my very old Mikrotik hardware...but not hardly enough to truly justify the nearly 3X price tag over my WAP AC (RBWAPG-5HACT2HND). I wont be replacing my completely reliable Mikrotik network anytime soon, and the 2nd location has this Unifi 6 Pro paired with a Mikrotik router since Ubiquiti doesnt offer full solutions at any reasonable price point.

This access point works great and is a major upgrade from the previous model providing longer distance and more stable connections.

Get this access point, NOT the long range! This AP uses a Qualcomm chip. The LR uses mediatek. Qualcomm is the best chipset for WiFi! I was using 2 high end Asus routers, but my WiFi was still having issues. But ever since I got this unifi AP, my WiFi has been ROCK SOLID!
