Great for backing up my files and random data dumps from my PC and phone, speeds are ok for a spinning disk hard drive. Good drive, Id order it again.

I got this specifically to back up my PS3. It is a aged system that I plan to fix or replace as the onboard wifi/bluetooth card is broken and soldered to the board making replacement of part difficult. (I have the tools, but repairs like this are not easy and not 100% going to fix the issue even though I have a replacement part already.) It hasnt died yet, and a cheap adapter allows me to use my controller still for games I play. The backup went without a hitch, and I saw no issues with the hardware which was responsive. I do not know what hardware they put into this casing, and it could change as often people get the lowest cost units they can, which does not mean worst quality. I just needed to make sure I had something to occasionally back up my hardware so I could transfer at any given time.

Well, its not an SSD but it is 1TB of space and inside in the box contains a spinning HGST HT6641010B7E610 drive. Its not the fastest drive out there my any means, but its great for a backup of your main computer or add-on to a PS4 or X-Box. So far no issues with using this drive to backup my main laptop and the cable is comes with is a USB-A 3.0 and has a nice felt caring storage pouch.

In the age of cheap flash (USB drives and SSDs), you might wonder where the UnionSine 1TB External Hard Drive USB3.0 (HD2512) fits in. After all, its a spinning 2.5 disk - subject to performance limitations, susceptibility to damage, with the inconvenience of a larger form factor than various competitors. Heres the thing, though.... its actually kind of good. ATTO measures the read and write STR of this drive at about 109MB/s. Thats fast enough to outpace gigabit Ethernet. Small block I/O isnt as strong, but this drive will do something that cheap flash wont... it will maintain its speed, no matter how much you write to it, and it will have higher write endurance. This is decent as a shuttle drive, or as a backup unit. Its worth noting that the UnionSine is less than half the price Id expect to pay for a decent 1TB NAND-based solution. All that said, its not for everyone. If youre not going to handle this drive with care, you should definitely opt for a flash-based solution, instead. However, if youre looking for a great value, and will treat this with care, this is a good solution for you. Conditionally Recommended

My experience with off-brand drives has been pretty negative in general, so it was refreshing to see the drive benchmark above advertised speeds. I currently have it hooked up to my plex mini PC as a dump drive, and it so far it has been able to stream video without issue. The enclosure looks nice with a faux brushed steel look. Time will tell if it ends up being reliable, but so far I am impressed.

This is compact and light weight. It helped me free up a lot of space on my device. I like how easy it was to use.

wow, modern technology, we used to have 3.5 disk with 1.5M of storage, now this small thing can have 1TB storage, how amazing, cant complain about the product at this price. I am using it daily and so far so good. thanks

Great for our PS4

Its hard to believe you can get 1tb of storage for this price, but here it is. It appears to be well made and functions exactly as it should. Speed is good and its easy to use.
