I have been a caretaker for both of my parents and used overbed tables regularly with them. Some were downright pains to use so I knew I wanted something simple, sturdy, and easy to operate when I became ill a while ago and needed one. I tried to make do with TV trays but it became obvious that I needed something that I could use while sitting up in bed or even on the couch. A cursory search showed several similar tables and I chose this one because the price was very fair and the reviews were overwhelmingly positive. This table is sturdy yet lightweight and not cumbersome. It took my husband all of 10 minutes to set it up, attaching the metal frame to the table top. I could have done it myself and I am awful at that stuff. The overbed table has a dark woodgrain surface that measures 15 wide by 30 long and is .75 thick. The table has rounded corners for safety which the one I recently used in the hospital did NOT and those edges can be a little bit sharp so I suggest always looking for a table with rounded edges. The table has four castors which swivel and roll easily under a bed, chair or even under some sofas depending on whether there is open space at the bottom. Mine has open space so I can slide this table right under my sofa and use it as a laptop table or eating tray. I can also use the table while sitting in a chair or sitting up on the couch with the tabletop in front of me and my legs on the floor as it is an open design. The castors also lock down so that the table doesnt roll although I rarely need to lock them as the table stays put for me when I use it. There are LOT of ways to use this, not just for in bed patient care. I am actually typing this review with my laptop on the overbed table as I sit up on the couch. The tabletop height is 27.5 at its lowest point and will go all the way up to 39.5. With a slight push of a lever on the side, the table will rise and lower with no set increments meaning you can adjust it to the exact height you want it. It locks securely and I have not ever had the table lower or move once I had it in place. When choosing an overbed table, its important to get one that both the patient and a caretaker can use with ease. I dont need a caretaker at this time (and I hope I wont for a very long time) but, if I did, it would be a breeze for someone to roll the table across the bed and roll it away as well as adjust the height. As the patient I find it very simple to adjust and move myself. The sturdy tabletop can hold a lot - up to 25 pounds according to the manufacturer - but I believe it could hold more although I dont have a need for that. I will often use the table to hold my dinner and a drink, my laptop, or a variety of other things that I want close to me. When I dont want the table in front of me, I simply push it away and it rolls easily even on a carpeted surface. When I recover, I will still use this table as a laptop tray. Its much better than a portable laptop tray and has plenty of room for any size laptop as well as a drink, portable speakers, reference materials, or anything I want close by when working on my notebook. My husband is a welder and I cant tell you the number of times he has called anything I bought that was metal, junk. He looks at the welding beads to see if the item was carefully welded. Guess what? He didnt call this table structure junk! Shocker. He said it looked well made and the beading was not sloppy or even noticeable. Most people would never even think about this but welders tend to be very scrutinizing. What this says to me is that the workmanship is good and care was taken to make the table and I certainly appreciate that. The brushed metal is attractive and the deep color of the wood keeps staining to a bare minimum. I honestly have no complaints. This table does what it is supposed to do and doesnt take up massive amounts of space. Its great for people who are ill or injured and cant get up and sit at a table to eat or otherwise need to have things in front of them or nearby. Its also a great laptop or reading table for anyones bedroom or living room. In the interest of full disclosure, I received this overbed table free of charge from the company after I chose it on my own. The opinions and descriptions above are entirely mine. I have been reviewing products for 16 years and always call it like I see it regardless of how a product was obtained. For $60.00, I feel this table is a steal. I cant really think of anything more I could want. Its smooth as far as rolling and adjusting the tabletop height, it has plenty of space for whatever one may want to use it for, and its well made. I like that Im not locked into certain levels and that I can raise and lower the table to any height I want and it will lock and stay put. I will still get a LOT of use out of this after I recover which I hope will be soon. If youre a caretaker or the patient or even if youre looking for something to use while in bed or in a chair for your laptop or reading, this overbed table does it all. I honestly recommend it to anyone. It has so many uses outside of medical use.

It’s good for the living room, better then tv trays! Adjustable height means it works great for sitting at the couch or a chair for my 6’4 husband or me, 5’2!

I got it as a part of preparation for a surgery and used it for about 7-10 days after getting home from a hospital. It arrived packaged very well in a surprisingly small (thin) and light box. Assembly was quick and straightforward. Required tools are a screwdriver and a set of SAE wrenches or an adjustable wrench (surprisingly, the nut which had to be tightened was not metric). It literally took 5-10 mins to get it assembled. It is light enough to lift and carry to the second floor, and it is sturdy enough for some supplies which need to be at hand (e.g., water or medication or phone), for food, or to put a laptop computer or a tablet. The height is adjustable; the best way to adjust is to grab the tabletop with two hands on opposite sides along the length, concurrently squeeze the lever, and pull or push up or down. Adjustment with one hand does not work very well. Having said that, I never needed to adjust it when it was in use. I found that the lowest setting was the best, and, as a matter of fact, for my bed height, a slightly lower setting (which alas was not available) would work even better. The table rolls really easily on hardwood floor, I could roll it closer or further away with one hand. I found it sturdy and stable. Of course it is not designed for heavy loads, as tabletop is attached with 4 screws on one side only. Overall, it served its purpose really well and was a tremendous help when it was needed. I tried to use it as a laptop stand, but it proved a little awkward - the angle and the position of the keyboard was awkward, too high and too horizontal. I also used it as a support for a tablet to watch movies, that worked really well. One does not need to buy an expensive bedside table unless a long term use is expected because after recovery it becomes kind of useless, while during recovery it finds only a light use. Overall, I am very satisfied - no issues whatsoever. It does not look super pretty or fancy, but it does its job as a medical bedside table. Hospitals use much fancier ones, but hospitals also need much better durability and longevity from their furniture.

This is my second one, sake brand. I bought one in 2022 for post surgery and it worked great, but I ended up giving it to someone else in need, thinking I would need it again. Low and behold, a year later…I needed one. And I purchased the same one, as the guest was easy to assemble, well made and worked great. Very happy with both purchases, and I’m keeping this one for good. Lol Table raises and lowers easily. Good quality product for the money.

This works great especially for ones that are restricted to some kind of bed rest.
