Greater than one weekI set my heat pad to 91F and does not heat up the surface of my tank. With my temp gun it only reads 84F with no substrate in the way, not hot enough for my ball python to digest.

15-04-2025If you bump the cord even slightly it will stop heating and won’t turn back on! Not sure if I just got a defective one but I literally used it for a week and I woke up to my tank at 72 degrees when it’s supposed to hit 85. This is dangerous. Do not for any reason buy this for any kind of sensitive reptile or amphibian.

> 3 dayThis mat works exactly as described. It heats up quick and the price was cheaper than some other ones that I looked at. Sticks well, and works best with a temperature controller. It is a little small but there its sized accordingly. There is also a bigger one that you can order I think. But if this fits your space though, pick it up because it’s a good mat.

Greater than one weekI returned the first one for a replacement and the replacement does the same thing. I will have to use duct tape to get it to stay. All the other heaters I have bought are nearly impossible to remove. Not this one.

> 3 dayNot really sure how small of a container I would need to use in order for the heat pad to be worthwhile, but it is what it is. I just use it with another heat pad at the same time to maintain a temperature that I need. Wish I could just return the pad for 10 bucks or whatever.

> 3 dayDoesn’t get as warm as advertised. Have to set the thermostat 10 -15 degrees warmer than what you actually want. I have to check it multiple times a day with my thermometer gun. Sometimes it falls well below what I have it set for. It’s just consistently inconsistent. Invest your money in a radiant heat panel from a reputable source if you’re using this for reptiles.

> 3 dayUpdate: I think I would center this to give it a more even warm thru out & of course leave basking light in corner or to one side as usual. I have a 40 gal. Its staying around 75 on the cool side with this but Id rather have it 85 all over. I saw someone said they achieved it.. I bet they put it in the center. Unfortunately you cant remove it once placed apparently. Previous: I pulled back my reptile carpet so I can could easily see placement. I had to use something to raise it off the platform it was sitting on because the glass was sitting flat on surface.. still looking for the right base. This should not sit directly on any surface, you should at least have the lip of the tank between surfaces and a barrier above inside. Please read directions closely to deter fire, melting, injury of animal. Not to be use with water aquariums.

> 3 dayIt heats up nicely and stays very close to set temperature. It’s not very thick so makes it easier to apply without worry. It has a sticky back with a removable strip to do so but I just taped it to the bottom of my aquarium so when I upgrade the enclosure it can move with my snake. I recommend this heat mat as it comes with the thermostat and makes it safe so it don’t cause injury to your reptile from overheating.
