I bought this to use as secondary drive in laptop. It fit my hard drive caddy perfectly. Works with Windows 11, but i assume it would work just fine with earlier versions of Windows. Had to go to Computer Management to initialize drive before using. One sidenote: Partition using MBR instead of GPT if using on older versions of Windows.

My friend is very pleased with his quadrupled storage capacity over the standard PS4 hard drive, and setup was only a minor inconvenience requiring download of installation software to a flash drive from a PC. Overall low effort and ample reward for this price, and I trust WD with all of my PC storage so its likely just as good for Playstation.

This was well worth the storage. All my ps4 library took only 1tb. I still have a lot of space for more

So far, so good on these 2TB drives. I bought two because my two 1TB HDDs were getting close to capacity. The older 1TBs were 7200RPM and these are only 5400RPM but there hasnt been a very noticeable drop in performance. The 1TBs (which I still use) are Hitachi TravelStars made in Hitachis Global Storage Technology facilities, which Hitachi acquired from IBM and they are first class facilities. WD has since acquired Hitachi and has folded all Hitachis products under the WD label. If WD keeps to the same quality that Hitachi did, these should be fine drives that last quite a while. If not I will be editing this review. Note there are 4TB and 5TB HDDs in the 2.5 inch size but these are 15mm high and WILL NOT fit in any modern laptop, so 2TB is the highest capacity you can get for a laptops internal dvive bays.

I seem to have bought many of these 2.5 inch 2TB hard disks. I have six in hand right now. One is working well performance wise but is reported as having so many errors that its predicted to fail soon. One is brand new, and offers up way above 100 MB/sec read and write. The other four work - but their performance is abominable. They might get to 50 MB/sec write average over a 1GB file.. Aja system test lite shows why - the drives are sometimes having to retry many many times, so that at times their throughput goes to just 4MB/sec. The image shows one of these disks. The left hand graph should be smooth - its limited to 38 MB/sec because the disk was mounted temporarily in a Voyager S3 disk adapter - slower than USBC. But as can be seen the performance drops precipitously twice. The read graph on the right is better, but disks need to store information. So - never again.
