I used these for chicks. They do not provide nearly as much heat in the enclosure as the typical infrared heat bulbs although the bulb itself gets very hot (burned even oven mitts when I tried to unscrew it) . No real light emitted though which may be beneficial depending on your needs. Overall works just not suited to my needs.

I have yet to find out if this ever goes bad, because it keeps on working. Its a big relief to not have to change expensive heat bulbs constantly. The only thing I would change is that this is very hot. A bit too much for my small tortoises in a 40 gallon tank. It would be wonderful for the chicken coop in winter.

The first bulb I used from the box failed within a day or two. The second one has worked for this last month, but Im concerned of the longevity of it after the initial failure. Ill be buying backup bulbs, but wont be ordering more of these.

Got these to regulate his sleep schedule but they dont have a light, they just emit heat

I have purchased the expensive heat emitters and honestly, these are NO different. They work well and have a considerably long life span. Be very careful, they heat up fast and when they do, they are untouchable. That should go without saying right? I have a massive enclosure for my varanus Salvator and the heat emitter(along with other lights) keeps it nice and warm day/night long.
