The mat worked ok for working on putting together my project and protecting the desk.

I misunderstood the measurements when I purchased, I thought the work space area was how the size was reported, but its actually the entire Mat size. My mistake, the Mat is as advertised and I like the feel of it and has many slots for holding parts while working on a project. I have since ordered a larger Mat, but this is a good Mat but perhaps a little pricey for what one gets.

First use was to solder new bulbs on my 2006 Sierra instrument cluster. The little divided areas on the mat helped keep the bulbs and small items handy and the mat was big enough for the whole circuit board. Will be using it many more times.

This mat seems to have no shortcomings. This intense blue color can be fatiguing after a few hours although it produces a reasonable contrast with most parts. Certain parts like small external screws are colored black in which case the blue would actually work better than grey, or black. The item is top quality and comes professionally packaged in aluminized Mylar. The material is thick and perfectly molded, with fine detail and a consistent surface with no waves or thickness variations. The recessed aluminum disc is a nice touch which will come in handy when a stiff heat conductive work surface is appropriate.

Its a decent size and allows for multiple items (knives in my case) to be maintained at once. Ample compartments prevents mixing up hardware/small part and definitely helps keep my tiny screws from falling into the carpet and disappearing forever. Only gripe is that it doesnt fold or roll up well, unless you band/tie it; otherwise, it will unfold/unroll, expanding and gripping onto anything in its proximity.

Seriously this smaller size mat is perfect for offices! I did my first joystick replacement today with this and it went smooth like butter! Cant recommend this enough!

Works like a dream, keep the screws in place every thing is right there and not all over the bench. If you solder repair or work on pcs i highly recommend this mat
