We got this for our farm cats (picture unchecked ant superhighways) and it has proven itself nothing short of spectacular since day one (one year). Havent had to do any sort of maintenance, cleaning, adjusting - nothing - since we got it. Fire and forget, rest easy, carry on. Critical: The dish cannot touch anything else at all. Provided you keep the dish completely away from all objects, cupboards, walls, pieces of food, etc. the ants cannot get to the top. However, there are no doubt some crafty, experienced siege ants that will conquer no matter what. So, 90% of the time it works 100% of the time.

This really worked. From the moment I first set it down with my dogs bowl of food the ants were gone. It was like immediate magic. The word must be out in the ant community because they don’t show up when this item is used.

Seems to be working great. Tested with one food bowl on the tray and another food bowl elevated on another platform. No ants in the bowl on the Ant Away . Plenty of ants in the other bowl.

It works. I leave dry food out for a couple of neighborhood cats and this has kept the ants away. One day the bowl got shifted so that it touched the wall of the house and sure enough, the ants were resourceful enough to climb up the wall and into the bowl. Now we are careful to make sure the tray is several inches away from the house. One other thing we did was place the tray on top of an inverted plastic lid. The lid has a trough that we filled with water, like a moat. Its been a foolproof combination.

Food bowl used to get swarmed with ants during the summer time but not anymore. Great product. Only thing I would have like is if it was a little smaller. It is about 4 times the size of his (jimmy) bowl.
