These are sturdy. The coating seems like will stay on. Rubber tip. This is quality made. I’m very impressed. Will hold my large, 18” outdoor hanging baskets after being watered. I bought these S-Hooks specifically to hand a variety of bird feeders outside. The large end is big enough to fit around a pretty good-sized branch. Each end has a cap on it, and they are well painted. I take my feeders down at night, so the hooks are not outside hanging 24/7, but so far they are very sturdy and are able to hold quite a bit of weight. I also plan to use some indoors, to hang belts etc in my closet. They are well-made, and I recommend them.

Extremely useful

The plastic coating wears quickly. The metal inside is sturdy and has held up well for our use. Unfortunately, we are coastal and I am fearful that the metal will corrode like all metals do with the weaker plastic sheathing.
