Ive purchased and used these caps in 1.5 square steel and 1 aluminum tubing. Good tight fit in each! MUCH cheaper here than in big box stores (if you can even find them)

Looks just like the original cover.

Used to keep metal legs on Traeger Scout from rusting and scratching up the table. Just a tad too big, but was able to force them in with a hammer. Looks fine though.

Worked as needed

I used them for end caps on the aluminum tubing that my kayak trailer has. Unfortunately the plastic collapsed when installing them.

These will work for a 1” hole

I was impressed by how stiff this plastic was. In fact, when I took them out of the package I worried at first that they would be a bear to insert. The retention fins were thin enough where that turned out not to be a problem and they pushed in without excessive force. There is a decent amount of plastic that abuts the tubing end-wall as well. My application was more aesthetic, but i wouldnt be too afraid to put some axial load through them- unlike some of the soft and squishy materials endcaps are often made from.
