I am a train conductor, this gear bag has ample space on the inside that fits all my items, flashlights, rainsuit, xtra batteries, safety glasses, gloves and all my books and a ridiculous amount of paper work that are mandatory to carry by the federal railroad administration and other host railroads and I still have plenty of space for my lunch. On the outside it has two individual pockets that each fit a 24 oz bottle of water and 3 more huge compartments. every item in my 5.11 bag is easy to access.no more fumbling around. I own other name brand backpacks. The 5.11 patrol ready bag is less than half the cost of those bags and out performs them hands down.A lot of the other conductors complement me on my 5.11 bag, nice looking and durable. Ive been searching for a great gear bag This 5.11 bag will be the last bag I use. All those other expensive name brand back packs that I purchased are at the bottom of my closet.Thank-you 5.11

I know the dimensions were posted for this bag; however, its much larger than I anticipated. I thought it would be too small. Its perfect. Really deep. Sturdy. Stands on its own. The water bottle holders fit 1 liter poland spring bottles completely. The side pockets are alright. Small, but good for holding things like screwdrivers and tools. I havent found a use for the front outer pocket. Its a bit tight. Maybe some folded documents. The maglite holder is useless. It will fit on a 4D+ maglite which is fine; but, it wont hold it secure and it slips out from the back end and hangs. The pockets and pen holders on the inside of the flap are great. I have pens, phone charger, batteries for flashlight, and medicine in this part. The larger interior pocket is great. Very deep and wide enough to fit a Cold Steel Trench Hawk in. (Or SOG Tactical Hawk). Right now with the dividers I have a Trench hawk, Gerber LMF 2 in the longer section. 4 boxes of 9mm (50rnd) ammo in the smaller section. A change of clothes and a box of (200) nitrile gloves. There is plenty of room for more stuff. I purchased this bag as a go bag for my car for everyday. Still have to fill it with more stuff like medical supplies, etc. The construction of this bag is great. Im really liking the 5.11 brand. (I havent tried their boots; but seeing them on other people after use and hearing them complain about comfort I doubt Ill be switching from bates any time soon.) The only complaint I have is the divider on the inside is a bit hard to attach properly. Its great that it can be removed but its a little tricky getting the velcro seated perfect. Not really an issue just anal about it. Perfect size to hold a lot of gear and still fits perfectly on a front seat. Highly recommend this bag.

Ive been using mine for about two years now. It doesnt show much signs or wear and none of the metal pull tabs have broken. I used the shoulder sling to loop through the neck rest of the seat and it has held up.

Im using the Patrol Ready Bag as a range bag and it works just fine. These are the items I am able to carry in it: 2 Glock Pistols in their Glock boxes, 1 Ruger Mark 1 in a pistol rug, various paper targets, 4 pairs eye protection (stored in the waterbottle pouches), 4 pairs hearing protection, 3 smaller sized tupperware type containers for various caliber ammo, staple gun, 2 rolls of tape (duct and packing), baggie of disposable ear plugs, 3 extra Glock magazines, 1 extended Glock magazine, and clamp on bipod. Im sure Im forgetting something but the point is that I usually going shooting with the family so I need to pack extra gear and this bag does that admirably. I was using a gym bag before and it felt flimsy compared to this bag. The material is heavy duty and the zippers are sturdy. As a patrol bag, this should work fantastic. As a range bag, I think this is excellent as well.

This holds all of my wrenches, pins, vise blocks, bore guides, brushes, greases, oils, pliers, and punch sets. Plus I can put some custom flash on the velcro panels! Its sturdy, easy to carry, and fits well in most overhead storage bins.

This thing is strong as heck. I’ve been using it as a daily duty bag for about 6 months and it has been taking a beating with no bruises to show for it. Worth every penny for sure. Plenty of room for anything you’d want to put in it. I’ve even used it on multiple occasions to pack some clothes for overnight or weekend trips. It’s a go to get it done bag. But it, you’ll love it.

I purchased a 5.11 bag for my husband 10 years ago!! The old one is still holding up. No rips or tears. It can hold weight. This includes his belt and accessories ( which you know is heavy all together). I only purchased this new one simply because the old one looks faded and run down. This new bag is heavy duty, thick, and can support all of your gear. Its the perfect size to haul it from your vehicle to your work vehicle repeatedly! It can take a beating. It has a support for the bottom of the bag, removable walls, and heavy duty velcro inside. What he loves about this bag also is that the padding for the strap is made of a high quality rubber , right where it would sit on your shoulder. It prevents the bag from slipping off your shoulder. It also has velcro on the top for a velcro patch but the patch isnt included. I absolutely recommend this for the rough goers that might go threw alot of bags because this one holds up and absolutely does NOT look cheap!!

With the price it is at, and the durability, and the practical use, everyone should buy this bag.
