There are two sides to the drive. The smaller connection has a cool hinge design that allows the top to be removed and stay out of the way without losing it. The regular USB end just has a removable cap, which is also called a losable cap. Why in the world would the same hinged cap not be used on both ends? Thats frustrating to me because I will 100% lose this little cap. I know, its in the product description, but I just assumed there would be some sort of cap retention like a small tether or something. For that reason alone, I am hesitant to use this drive. But it works great as far as portable drives go.

The first thing I noticed when I took this drive out of its nice box, was that it was heavy! This is made out of metal; youre not going to break this on accident. Plugging it in, I saw that the drive already had Android system folders (empty folders) set up on the drive--this would make it easy for transferring/backing up files to the right places with the right names. As described, you can plug it into either a USB-A or C connection. Unfortunately, my phone case interfered with the USB-c connection and I had to remove it--but my case is quite thick. My disk properties showed 256G as expected. Im not caught up with the actual speeds (other reviews have commented on this) but it seemed to transfer quickly to and from the drive--it works for me. I would consider it a little pricey if it were just USB-c or USB-a, but its both--and its metal construction makes it a good deal.

I picked this one up to replace a 128GB drive that I use with Ventoy. I had no issues reformatting and partitioning with the Ventoy tool and both Mac and Windows PCs are easily able to read and write to the drive. Several test systems booted from the drive, both USB-A and USB-C ports, with no issues. The drive is in a metal case and has a nice weight to it. The USB-C side has a swing-away cover and the USB-A side has a magnetically attached cover. Overall, super happy with this one.

This just what I needed to transfer my pictures and documents from my iPad to my HP computer. I had to use a large adapter to transfer everything and it was frustrating going back and forth. This makes it much easier because it has two plugs that fit each device and it is small. The only thing about this is the drive in the iPad is buried within the system so I had to search for the drive. However once I found it, everything transferred beautifully. But that has more to do with the apple than the product itself.

These devices are great and this one in particular is really fast. It reads and writes at around 500 MB/s (average) which is good enough for me. The capacity is quite good at 256GB. But you should remember not to keep filling it full and then deleting everything. The more that you repeat a fill/delete cycle - the quicker the USB drives life will expire. I wanted to get this so I could easily connect my phone, pc, or mac to the thumb drive without worrying about needing a adapter. This has a ton of memory for me to store pictures, files, and videos on. It is also nice because I am able to connect my phone to this and transfer photos off of my phone to free up space. It is also a nice device to store videos so I can watch videos from this thumb drive rather than storing it on my phone. It will also work for thunderport on mac but you may need to format the drive in order to transfer to the mac. This is NOT a thunderport device so it will not utilize the full thunderport speed. If you are using it with your mac, it will transfer pretty quick to and from the device. This thumb drive is pretty decently built although the metal is a bit easy to scratch. There is no slot for key ring or lanyard which is a bit of a bummer. You are able to open the cover to use the type c port. The cap is connected to the thumb drive so it is hard to lose. The cap is pretty solid so it will not just pop off on its own. I do wish the USB port cover was the same. This is a pretty thick thumb drive so it may take up more than one slot. The price as well is pretty reasonable for a thumb drive of this size. The cap is nice because now there will not be any exposed plugs. The case is easy to get scratched up though. Overall this a good flash drive to have if you happen to need to empty your phone or even transferring data between devices via type c. Please note this is not a thunderbolt plug but it will work on a thunderbolt port. It has plenty of space so it can store a good amount of pictures. I do wish it had some kind of key ring slot as you can lose this drive.

Thumb drives are still getting larger & larger every day, but this 256gb size is a really great size now in my opinion for PCs & Macs or phones with USB-C. Big enough to hold quite a few HD 1080p & even 4k movies & shows, or just tons of various files but not SO large that it breaks the bank! This drive is neat. VERY well made & its USB-C OR USB 3.0 whichever you need or prefer. Transfer speeds were lightning fast & steady the whole way for very large files through the USB-C port and still good & stable through USB 3.0 but the speed did drop off a good bit through USB 3 on large transfers. No drop off at all through USB-C. USB-C speeds were nearly 400 MB/s from my internal SSD to this drive. No noticeable heating up of this drive either. One of the better flash drives Ive had in some time.

VERY SATISFIED! Extremely fast transfer speed, lots of space. It cannot (physically) connect to my phone with a larger case, but will on my slimmer tablet case. This allows for easy transfer, compilation, and storage of files from many kinds of devices not just laptops/desktops like other USB storage. For the above reasons, I think this is almost perfect. If it had a narrower neck for the USB-C port, it would be 6 stars and not just 5.

Super easy to transfer data from your phone to your computer. I took tons of pictures on my Samsung phones and I am able to just send them over to this card then I just plug this card into my laptop and move all the photos over. This beats all the hassle of plugging your phone into your laptop.

Ive pushed the drive to capacity and can confirm its what it says it is. The USB A & C options are perfect for moving data between my phone and PC, if a data cable is not readily available. The price point vs the amount of data is really good, especially with the speed and versatility of the two connectors. If you need some kinda USB with decent size and use on multiple device types, this would be perfect to pick up.
