I liked that this product came with the screwdrivers and tools I needed. It took me about 1 hour to install and it was fairly simple; however, it ultimately did not fix my problem. Now I have to uninstall it and send it back. Ugh. My issue on my Wii was never that it wouldn’t take the disc but that once you were playing the game (any game) it would randomly say “An Error has occurred. Press the Eject button, remove the disc, and turn off the power to the console. Please read the Wii operations manual for further instructions”. It was very frustrating especially when in the middle of playing and we never knew when it was going to happen. My kids were so excited for it to be fixed and when I finally plugged it in to test it out, the error code showed up before we even picked a player. So disappointed.

The tools that came with are cheaply made and would not loosen my Tri wing screws, (Tri wing screw drivers are not easy to find and alot of people have not heard of them). I had to Wiis that needed repairing and the main one I needed fixing, was not able to be done as I could not loosen the screws. So I tried on box #2 I switched everything out and still have the same issues. Still waiting on Tri wing screwdriver to take the first box apart to switch out, but I’m s currently ready to just remove and return. Had to watch a few YouTube videos to figure out how to change this.

My Wii suddenly suddenly stopped reading disks and I didnt know what to do at first, I looked up some video on YouTube and then I bought this. It perfectly fixed the Wii, works even better then before!

Easy to replace via online instructions... wii is working again

This item arrived as used. Multiple dents in the housing of the drive. A poor effort was made to conceal all of the scratches with a silver marker. Looks like it was removed from and old console with a poor attempt at reconditioning.

Was able to fix my Wii no problem. The actual process is a bit complicated, lots of screws and stuff, but this drive fit perfectly!

We can play the Wii again! The tools included did remove the Nintendo security screws with no problem.

This drive worked as advertised for replacing the original drive in our 10 year old Wii. Does not come with instructions however you can find many step by step tutorials online. I have never fixed any electronic in my life and I had no problems. If I can do it it then I can assure you that you can too. Come to find out we all have a little bit of “nerd” hidden deep in our souls. So thankful that I took a chance on this replacement drive instead of buying a used console or new wii. The drive on a used console most likely will soon go out based on what I learned on different online forums so if your wii stopped working plan on buying a new console or buy a replacement drive. BTW.... you will need a tool set in addition to this drive. I learned the hard way and had to order one after receiving the drive. The tool kit is available on Amazon and varies in cost from $10 to $30 depending on how nice you want it.
