I bought two of these for a dual monitor setup. Unfortunately there are no instructions on installing the base of the monitor. The Quick Guide states that The monitor base is attached onto the monitor before shipment and it is undetachable. This is clearly false as nothing is attached to the monitor. Rather, there are two pieces included: A round base and a middle bracket. Attaching the middle bracket to the round base was easy to figure out. However, attaching the middle bracket to the monitor was not easy. On the first monitor, we tried different things and none worked. We then thought the base is pressure mounted so we tried to push it straight into the back of the monitor, and that broke two plastic tabs on the brand new monitor! On the second monitor we were more careful. After a few more tries, we discovered that you need to angel the middle bracket into the back of the monitor and then lift up for it to attach. If you do it right, it will work easily and quickly. If you find yourself forcing it in, then you are doing it wrong! Acer could make this easier for its clients by including installation instructions. Other than the above, its a nice monitor. I have a VGA and HDMI outputs on my computer so I used the VGA to connect to one and a 6 ft HDMI cable for the other monitor: TIP: If you need to use the HDMI port like I did, order the HDMI cable with the monitor as it is NOT included. They might have included it in the past as some of the reviews says it is included, but it sure was not included with the two monitors I ordered in Jan of 2019. Also, it seems there are two versions of this monitor: one with speakers and one without. The latter is more expensive. I choose the version without speakers as I already have external ones.

Despite the backlight bleeding, I have really enjoyed using this monitor. I use it for personal digital content creation, gaming at 1080p 60hz,and general PC browsing. The low-blue setting is easy on the eyes for extended work sessions. For the price, youd be hard pressed to find a comparable product. It is not a professional monitor, but a great PC monitor Id recommend to more casual gamers or freelancers on a budget. Thin bezel, good looks, sharp screen, great IPS viewing angles, decent color reproduction, and all the inputs I need (1x each VGA, DVI, and HDMI). Plus it has an HDMI 3.5mm audio out for headphones or speakers which is a nice feature , though i use my onboard digital output. Response times are a gray area (pun intended) and advertised response times often have little credibility. the gray-to-gray Ive experienced using blender and watching movies is great. very little ghosting. Again, its not top of the line so if you look really hard youre going to find it. No smart features so there is no noticeable input lag. The user menu leaves something to be desired, but it is functional. Just dont buy it expecting perfection for the price-tag. notice its 27 cousin listed on the same page is much more expensive. If i had to guess, the backlight bleed exceeded their tolerances for the high-end model it was supposed to be. Shows how much pride Acer takes in their monitors. No dead pixels. BTW, I have noticed a reduction in backlight bleeding and auto-detect times when using HDMI as opposed to the included VGA. HDMI registers first in the auto-detect, then dvi, then VGA FYI. I hope this was a helpful review.

I cannot speak for gaming, but for a home office I think these are great! My only complaint is they did not come with the hdmi cables.

I bought this monitor in 2019 for my second computer and after a year I mostly switched on that computer. As I mentioned above, for four years I didnt have any problems with it and I love it!

Great ACER monitor, fair price, I just wish it had VESA attachments for wall and stand mounting.

I figured I would wait awhile before making this review. Its for the 23.8 inch R240HY bidx I feel I should mention the size because Amazon has this completely stupid policy now of merging reviews for what they think are similar products, so you never know if youre reading the review for the product you actually are researching, or the larger or smaller model with may or may not be similar in reality. In my opinion this monitor has good color quality, blacks are black enough, it can be tuned to be not too bright/blue (although most people seem to love screens as bright and blue as technically feasible). Its great for gaming, the screen looks larger than it is because the bezel is small. Its very thin. No dead pixels (my last 1080p Acer had one stuck red pixel, this was ages ago though). I have hopes it will last longer than my last one because of the LED backlighting. Main complaint is ghosting or trailing when scrolling on websites with dark font and colors that arent white. Theres a site I visit more often than others, and when scrolling the text ghosts pretty bad, its black text on a kind of blue/grey background and the ghosting is basically negative, as in it ghosts light almost white under the black text when scrolling. Hard to explain I suppose but even a literally ancient HP LCD monitor I have from Windows Vista era does not do this. Really griping I suppose and if you want consider this a five star review. I just dont give five stars unless I have no complaints. Acer is always a great value brand if youre willing to consider it might not last forever. Great specs and features for the price as always VESA mount would also be nice, if just so that I could get a second of exact same model for portrait use as a second monitor

So the title of my review is to catch anyones attention. Now that youre here, Ill explain why I want your attention. This monitor is very good (so far). I am typing this review on this monitor and it is amazing but there are some things that I would like to point out. Here we go. PACKAGING 5/5: the packaging was very well done. No missing cables or components or anything. The panel came very well guarded and didnt have any type of damage of any kind. INSTRUCTIONS TO SET UP 2/5: Ok, here is where I am really going to complain. It was very difficult to set this monitor up. I have uploaded some pictures to give you an idea. Here is the thing, the manual says the following The monitor base is attached onto the monitor before shipment and it is undetachable. Well, one of the pictures that I have uploaded shows the monitor (covered in a white protector); the ring base; and another piece that connects both that I will call the bridge separately from each other. English is not my first language so I may be mistaken but, monitor base attached to monitor to me means exactly that and not that the parts come separately. I have NO problem with setting it up, thats not my complaint. My complaint is that it says that it comes attached and then doesnt tell you how to attach the bridge part to the monitor Now, I will break it up into a few steps. Step 1. You take the ring part and the bridge part and you join them together. Plug and play. Once you do that, at the base of the ring piece, there is a white screw that you have to tighten using a coin. So far, so good. This part is clearly explained in the manual, no problem. Step 2. You take the bridge + ring and insert it into the bottom of the monitor and you press it hard. I mean VERY HARD until you hear a sort of POP and it locks in place. This sounds simple, right? It actually is if you have instructions, which Acer doesnt give you. The instructions manual does not explain this. I kept pushing the bridge + ring into the monitor and couldnt understand why it wasnt working. I looked for a locking mechanism of some sort and couldnt see it. I was trying to be gentle because I didnt want to smudge the monitor but I also had to hold it hard to put the bridge + ring in place. I unscrewed the bridge from the ring and tried to connect that to the monitor. It would just fall off and I didnt know how to make it stay. Out of pure luck and 20 minutes of trying, I guess I must have used too much force and it finally locked in. I was scared for a second because I thought I broke it but then I saw it didnt fall of anymore and I was relieved. After that, it was pretty straightforward. Now, some of you may say that I should have known to use a lot of force to lock it together but, sorry, I didnt know and I wonder if anyone else has experienced the same thing. PERFORMANCE 5/5. Coming from a 1366x768 resolution monitor, all I can say is that I am BLOWN AWAY!. Everything looks so beautiful and crisp and sharp. It is amazing. I am using a DVI-D (Dual link) from Amazon Basics connected to a R9 380 Nitro and it works perfectly. I play a lot of Rocket League and I cant believe how good the game looks now, it is surreal. Overall, the monitor looks and performs very well. For this reason, I think a 4 out of 5 stars is adequate. I will upload more pictures if anyone is interested in seeing them. Just ask.

Seems to be a decent economy monitor. I like that it has 3 different kinds of hook ups but the power input is different than the 3 prong monitors so you cant substitute cords. The only downside I can see as of now is that you can not adjust the hight but I knew that going in. If it stands the test of time Id buy again.
