> 3 dayBought this computer to replace my chromebook because of technical issues during zoom meetings. Im pleased to say that this laptop has the features needed for doing zoom meetings, for example, it gives you the links for interpretation and so forth...whereas the chromebook didnt offer that. The Acer 1080 also is great for accomplishing coding projects, especially for my sons zoom class.

> 3 day“no bootable device “ seems to be this laptop’s mantra. Unit crashes while in sleep mode or not in use. When it’s in use, seems ok. For now it’s a doorstop.

> 3 dayI had two laptops over the past 11 years; ones an Acer ( March 2010-March 2015 ) the other a HP ( March 25,2015- May 31st, 2021 ). Anyway, Acer laptops have top tier specs and powerful processors at reasonable prices, and this Aspire 5 laptop does not disappoint. While there is no optic drive, getting an external drive shouldnt be a problem. The Full HD screen is remarkable, the 10th Generation Intel Core i3 processor is quick, and its light, again no CD/DVD drive, but easy on the hands. Im glad I decided to go back to Acer for my Third laptop, and this time, its going to Aspire and Inspire me for the next four or so years ( Im 51, so, its never too late to tackle a laptop ). Acer, Im back, and you got a winner with the Aspire 5!

Greater than one weekThe fan is always running and it is so loud. I missed the return window because Im rarely on it since purchasing, and I havent really used it because the loud fan noise is such a turn-off! Ive used my dinosaur computer laptop instead. I do not recommend, now Im stuck with it!

> 3 dayDo not buy this laptop. Yes it works pretty good. But the hinges that allow you to open it are fragile. After only about a year and a half of use one broke. I fixed that one only to have the other hinge break. Its out of warranty, and the hinges are not replaceable. All you can do is tear the thing apart and glue the screws back in...which only lasts for so long. Eventually the hinges will not be repairable, the screen will be ruined...so Ive read...and this is a very very common occurrence with this model. If you Google it, youll see a lot of complaints about the hinges. So if you plan on buying a new laptop every year, then this is the one for you...otherwise avoid it.

> 3 dayI love new tech but I use my phone for computer stuff more than an actual computer. Take what I say with a grain of salt. This thing is actually pretty solid. The screen is nice with minimal glare. The keyboard is easy to type with. Plus I got it to stay lit by enabling in bios which is easy to boot into. The track pad has a nice feel and not too sensitive. Even the speakers have decent sound but old people might have trouble really hearing them. I was told camera looks fine and I would agree.
