I have upgraded from a Ryzen 5 1600 and there is a very noticeable difference in speed. After much consideration the reasons I chose a Ryzen 7 3700x instead of the popular Ryzen 5 5600x are:

Solid processor, this thing does wonders for video production and editing. Its a bit overkill with the core count, but its great for some future-proofing since most new games and software dont really use more than 4 cores just yet.

I purchased for my first PC build and love it. This CPU can really work on anything, I mainly got this for gaming and havent had an issue. Really fast and I get great performance out of the 4.2GHZ that it can hit and have no issues with any game, Im sure that you can use this for other things, I just prioritize gaming. I purchased this CPU back in May when it was Quarantine time and still have it in my build and couldnt be happier, highly recommend!

great for games, and work flow. I overclocked it to 4ghz stable. It can probably clock higher, but I havent tried yet.
