Greater than one weekGreat CPU for an AM4 Socket Motherboard. The CPU run a little hot (80c), but thats normal for the 5800x. These CPUs were made in 2020, so if youre using an older MB (like form 2018), dont forget to update your bios, otherwise you wont be able to boot your computer because the motherboard wont recognize the cpu.

Greater than one weekArrived damaged (in a damaged box) and when I returned it the next day, the price had risen £10.00 or so and therefore I had to pay for it again while I waited for my refund instead of being offered a replacement. Very very very frustrating.

> 3 dayThis thing is fast and energy efficient! I have it cooled with a Thermaltake single fan liquid cooler and this CPU maintains a boost frequency above its rating without throttling. This is my first ever AMD CPU after having seven prior Intel CPUs over the years and I’m impressed. As mentioned in the title Intel 12th gen has caught back up performance wise. If you can purchase the 5800X for a good price I think you’ll be satisfied.

> 3 daySecond time going AMD after coming from the FX-8350, and it is a huge step-up. Price to performance wise, it’s not the best value compared to the 5600X or 5900X, especially for an all-gaming build. However, unlike the better valued counterparts, this processor seemed more widely available near the time of release. If I had to summarize this processor in one word: Beastly. It performs anything given to it with ease, albeit a little hot. With a 240mm AIO, the idle temperatures sit around 35C and at max load under Cinebench R23, the temperatures reach 80C which is line with what this processor can handle. Luckily, the temperatures while gaming seem to go as high as 67C. Overall, a fantastic processor even if it is a bit overpriced.

Greater than one weekNot bad. I returned it for a 5900x for just $100 more. The 5800 presents a poor value for the money IMO.
