Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Nintendo Switch

Got it for him for Christmas, he probably has 40hrs of play time on it already.

So I bought this for my small children and I am also obsessed. I find it relaxing and a good way of teaching my children accounting and money management. Something new every day! Sure there are some kinks Id have liked ironed out, like multi-player screeds, etc.. like Mario Cart, but still fun!

I personally know nothing about Switches but my granddaughter is quite an expert and Animal Crossing was what she wanted for her birthday. When she opened her gift she was thrilled, just shrieked for joy. So this know-nothing-about-electronic-games grandmother scored big points! A win-win situation.

A wonderful Animal Crossing mainline addition. The multiplayer is perfect for working together on projects and to switch leaders is as easy as shaking the remote. The amount of customization available is amazing, you can really make the island all your own. The introduction of the nook miles tickets really helps with adding things to do everyday. Nook miles allow for a sense of progression without having to wait till the next day in game. One of my favorite games of the year so far.

The game arrived on time and was sealed. It is a X-Mas present for my son and so we will not know until then in order to see if anything is wrong. If it has any problems will edit review then.

Let me preface this review by saying I am a very hardcore Animal Crossing fan- Ive played all of the games except the original GameCube and Im pretty picky about the new games sticking to the original tone of Animal Crossing. So I will say that when the ads for this game came out I was kind of negative about the whole thing- it looked so different from the older games and I was wary of it. But let me say that I honestly think this is the best Animal Crossing game since City Folk and possibly even on par with it. First of all the art is incredible- its a new twist on the old style but its so amazing to watch (even just the way the wind is animated to blow) that you cant be anything but impressed. The new crafting features on the island lend so much more possibilities for the game- no more days of wandering around the town wondering what to do with your day because youve done so much fishing and bug catching theres kind of no point. Its honestly a bit like Minecraft and Animal Crossing had a cool superior baby of a game and it definitely gets you hooked. Blathers is back and theres the option for him to give his old speeches that old fans will remember from earlier games. All in all, it keeps to the old Animal Crossing tone much better than New Leaf (definitely better than Welcome Amibo or Campground) with lots of cool new features that really fit in well with the old spirit. I am a big fan!

This is a great game! Its a very relaxing, easy way to get lost in a different place while we are all locked down in our towns because of COVID-19. I will list pros and cons: Pros: - Easy mechanics and controls (great for little kids). - Basic goals to complete that encourages exploration and creativity. - Funny and entertaining characters. - Works in real time, so you are forced to be patient. - Free to visit friends islands. - Multiple players live on the same island. - Lots of visitors and potential characters to visit the island (400 I believe). - Family and kid friendly - no bad guys or scary things (unless you count the wasps and tarantulas....). Cons: - You can ONLY have one island per Switch!! - Since there is only one island, all resources are shared. This means that it is possible for one person to hoard all of the resources. DONT HOARD THE TOILET PAPER! - Works in real time, so you are forced to be patient..... Yeah its a pro and con... Overall, this is a great game, and I would HIGHLY recommend it.
