Anime Studio Debut 9

Fun, need to get more into it to really give it a good rating.

Anime Studio Debut 9 is by far one of the least user-friendly programs I have ever used. Even very simple actions take an excessive amount of clicks through menus to get done. For example, lets take an incredibly simple function like drawing a vector-based circle. You draw your circle and you want to modify the fill and stroke. Sorry, but you cant, those options are greyed out. Even though the circle is already selected because you just drew the darn thing you have to first click on the Select Shape tool, click the shape, THEN you can change properties of the circle. WHY?! I just drew it, let me change its attributes right there and then! Another massive gripe I have with Debut is that your project dimensions are limited to 788x768! This is a huge limitation that basically cripples the software for me. ASD9 has some cool features, like bone-rigging, that work really well, but is rendered unusable due to the frustrating and unintuitive user interface. Fortunately the software is cheap enough that trying it out isnt going to break the bank.

I was amazed at how much the product does. I am just starting to learn how to do the cartoons. But I am very happy with the price and the product. I would recommend it to anyone.

I am looking forward to using this software soon. All the other online products I have tried did not work.

This was the first Animation program I ever tried and well the bone rigging was easy to get the drawing tools making it hard to make anything decent looking if you freehand anything.

Very good, but a little complicated! I will take some studying . I got this for my Sister and she loved it!

extremely limited. No real instruction. Not very useful. They should fotget the debut and go right to the real product if ththey arent going to give you a chance to use it.

Confusing interface...and too much marketing inside the product trying to get me to buy more stuff.

Animation sounds fun, right? And it is. This is the first, and only, animation software Ive tried and so far Im enjoying it very, very much. Install is very fast, it does not take very much room on your hard drive and it basically is up and running within minutes. Id advise you to start with the tutorial that comes with the program, just to get you started and somewhat familiar with everything you can do. Its very easy really, and thats a good thing for someone who has never done animation. Within an hour I had made cool backgrounds and a character that moved. Awesome!!
