I dont normally write a negative review (Can you look at my other posts?), but this thing literally ruined 3D printing for me... for a while. My short story: I bought the Ender 3 V2, and I was having a blast with it! 220x220 was an AWESOME upgrade from my MPSM! I decided I would make things even easier on myself, and get the BLTouch! Big mistake.. HUGE. Dudes & Dudetts I havent been able to print SINCE I installed it. It literally adds so much more complication to the mix. I LOVE to tinker. I figured If I level the bed myself and get good prints, this thing should make me a rockstar! WRONG. You start having to mess with offsets and meshes and all sorts of junk that adds SOOO much more confusion to the 3D printer. Unneeded confusion. Ive tried since I purchased this thing.. and I just cant get it. Reddit posts, YT, forums. Nothing. Well, tonight I needed something printed, and Im dead in the water, so I removed the BLTouch. I leveled the bed with a piece of printer paper... and BAM! Printing like a dream again after about 4 months. I mean even if I was doing something wrong... how would I be able to be back up and running again with a firmware flash and a quick level? If you can take anything from this rant, its the very fact that something like this device should make printing easier? Right? Do yourself a favor, save yourself some time. Just level the bed with paper and keep on printing! Thanks for listening to my story, I take solace in the fact that I might save you some money.

This is a great investment for your printer, but installation can be a challenge, especially for a newbie. Be sure and do a lot of research on what you have to do to install it on your printer before diving in.

Other than the incredibly frustrating process of learning about ABL and how to configure it on the printer this is probably the most important mod on my printer especially if you arent printing on glass. Highly recommended even if it does come with some initial frustration. Outside of having to learn the how to configure / use it this was very plug and play with my SKR e3 Mini 1.2 board in my Ender 3.

So I kept hearing this product was awesome to have on an Ender 3. I got everything to get it to run on an Ender 3 (lcd adaptor, longer wires, etc) However, most tutorials did not have the same wires. Yellow/Red/Black in the tutorial. Yellow/Redish orange/Brown were mine. The Lcd adapter would just flicker. The plugin part of the wires fell off. Had to remove the board from the housing to use the bltouch with the stock wires. Stock board-> Once ditching the Lcd adaptor. I plugged into the board and the Arm clip lite up as I powered on. Like a match. Next was just a bsod. 2nd board-> After hours of flashing the board issues. The printer was alive but the bltouch was not? The new board had a direct slot for the bltouch wires. However, the board refused to work with the bltouch. It would probe when in the setting but wouldnt auto level or find Z. After switching to Resin printing I stepped away from FDM. Present, I start working on the Ender3. And caused the same problem to happen. This has to be a knockoff, I barely touched the board and it shorted the same ARM chip??? There are other sellers online or Amazon that WILL provide a better product because This IS NOT THE BLTOUCH. Im out two boards for a piece of plastic. It shouldnt be this hard. I mess with Raspberry Pis

Very happy with the BLTouch. Plugged it in and it worked as advertised. Always buy the Genuine ones like this.

This product works well but this is not the full solution! Essentially, after paying for this product, you will need to watch a YouTube video on installation as there is very little manufacturer documentation. You need an ISP programmer or Arduino Uno to install a bootloader and update firmware as the Ender-3 has no existing support for this product. Then, if you did not purchase the package with 2 meter wire, you will need to buy an extender wire (which is more expensive separately than in the package). Next, you need the pin 27 adapter board or else you will have to slice and solder wires from your board. To install the part, a 3D printed mount (i.e. Petsfang V2) is required. After that, you need to slice through hot glue to carefully remove plugs and replace them with this products wires. Finally, install everything. In short, the entire installation is expensive. $50 (BLTouch with 2 meter cable) + $15 (knock-off Arduino Uno) + $20 (pin 27 board) + $5 (3D printed mount) ~= $90 not counting the hours you will spend on this installation. I love supporting the original developer but the competition (3DTouch) can be found for $12.99 with free shipping. This brings the total package cost to only $53 which is roughly the cost of this one component! I think the original manufacturer needs to include ALL of the supplies needed with sponsored tutorials. Until then, I cannot recommend this product to any Creality Ender-3 owners due to excessive price.
