Im transitioning from a Formlabs 2 printer to an Anycubic Photon 4K, and Im impressed by the quality of the prints! I did not like to use the Formlabs opaque resins because they seemed to have a filler and I didnt feel they were as sharp as the clear, however the Anycubic seems to only have pigment and not an opaque filler and the black has now become my go-to resin

For the most part Ive had decent experience with Anycubics resin. Ive messed with the basic printer settings to hone in on what generally works best for me. I rarely experience failed prints anymore, and when I do its typically because Ive pushed the FEP too far or failed to build a support on an isolated corner bit and suffer sag. Regardless, of the three brands I have tried, Anycubic is my least favorite. It has the strongest smell, takes a bit longer to cure, most viscous, most prone to inadvertent stress fracturing, and its spendy. Ymmv, but I honestly prefer the competitors resin for everyday prints as its much more forgiving or at least has a broader range of effective settings, plus I can save $4/liter on retail pricing in addition to what I save having to build fewer or less dense supports and experiencing fewer overall failed prints.

Firstly, Ive been using anycubic resin for over a year now and I love the quality of it! Its unfortunate that the last few bottles Ive received have been having some issues with these unknown fibers in them. These are really stringy and have messed up a few prints Ive made. Lastly, straining the resin does fix this issue and makes it just as smooth as before. I still highly recommend this resin as there are still so many good pros to using it.

open your windows because this stuff is noxious smelling. but you will get some super clean prints with it. when i spilled it on myself (yes i wear gloves but sometimes you make mistakes) it didnt burn or irritate my skin. but yah, that smell; i wouldnt want my child/pet anywhere near this stuff when printing.

EDIT - I had a bit of a rough patch with customer service but they stayed in contact and have resolved my issue, plus a pledge to work on communication. Cant ask for more than that. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ While looking for other colors I noticed the reviews for the green claimed that dental resin was in the bottles marked as basic resin. I opened the box for the 1L bottle and this is what I found: The bottle was well-packed. Inside the box the heavy plastic bottle and cap were completely intact, surrounded by a tight-fitting air pillow. I shook the resin for about a minute and did the same with the remains of the bottle of green that came with my Photon. I poured a few ml of each onto a paper towel and I noticed the new bottles viscosity was a little lower than the sample, and it was a slightly lighter hue. I put both samples under my UV curing lamp and after 5 minutes checked them against each other. I was certain these were essentially the same resin. To be absolutely sure I did a test print. I took one of my USB drives from the supply box, inserted it into the Photon and loaded a file that was sliced with settings for the sample green. I checked on it after an hour and the print appeared to be proceeding as expected. This morning I took the fully formed print off the print plate and processed it as I normally would. I am certain I received the correct green resin. The model printed without errors, the details on the model are crisp and fully formed, as I would expect. I will continue to purchase this resin and I expect the same great results going forward.

This prints perfectly almost every time I use it. My only complaints are that its stench is godawful and its brittle. I mean it will instantly stink up a room within the first 30 minutes of starting a print. The prints themselves are also extraordinarily brittle, but thats to be expected from non-abs or even non-additive mixes. My recommendation? If youre going to get this, add something with flex to it so the prints wont shatter if you look at them wrong.

I find this resin is excellent for miniature details. I also find it pretty durable and cleans nicely. I usually cut off the supports before curing since the contact points are still slightly rubbery and softer and it usually comes out with a cleaner surface. Using 8 second per layer and 60 seconds for the bottom layers seems to work perfectly on my Photon. I rarely have issues with failed prints and in all cases I messed up adding the supports where needed and once adjusted the pieces print great. Adhesion to build plate is no problem. I am also amazed at how small some of the details are that it can print provided it is supported. When cured it has a great surface for painting as well. The pictures above are of 1/72 scale Mandalorian , Razor Crest and Droideka printed on the Photon. You can see how fine the cables on the Droideka are.

I have had 0 problems printing the the Clear anycubic resin on my ELEGOO Saturn 2. It did yellow on beefy parts so just be warned I’m not sure if that’s a setting on resin specific!
