Sponge filters are excellent mechanical and biological filtering devices. Currently using 2 for filtering my 75 gal tank, MAINLY as aeration, and for seeding the sponges for possible new tanks. These can be used anywhere that aeration, water movement and some bio-filtering is required.

Slow switching all my filters to these. Can rinse these when full and use over and over. Cheaper to operate than back of tank that require expensive filters.

Its a sponge filter. Foam seems to have a good density and the plastic bits dont seem overly cheap. Happy with it and so long as it doesnt just break down or disintegrate or something Ill remain happy.
