> 24 hourI hadnt applied thermal paste since I first got my own gaming PC in 2016. Tried to OC my 6700k to a simple 4.4 ghz but my monitoring software showed by CPU jumping up to 100c after just 2-3 minutes of a max heat stress test! Once I got finished cleaning my CPU fan and reapplying this thermal paste, I reran the test and at 4.4 GHz at 1.3v I was running stable around 80c with occasional spikes to 82 and 83. Overall very happy with this product, but I question any claims of thermal paste to be effective longer than the 2-3 mark. The thermal paste I had used had been brand manufactured to compliment my CPU Cooler (Noctua D14) and it most certainly wore itself out quite a ways since 2016.

> 24 hourWe have systems which use CPU coolers at work, and these systems power-up/down with full loads hundreds of times per day (not normal computer systems), so *lots* of thermal-cycling. If there were an issue with dry-out or pump-out, we would have seen it by now after several years of systems in use. Weve been using Artic MX-4 on all these CPU cooler interfaces, so I use it for my own stuff at home, and recommend it whole-heartedly. MX-4 has the longest specified working life at 8 years, and I believe it.
