This is an amazing router. I took 3 weeks researching routers before deciding on this one. Really like it. Tech support was spot on. I forgot Im in a congested area of WiFi and needed to change the channels on my router. Once I did that everything worked amazing.

I replaced my formerAsus router from 10 years ago with this amazing ax WiFi six model and couldn’t be happier. I have installed 30 LIFX bulbs around my house, along with switches and plenty of other smart home devices that all require a wireless connection and my old router kept dropping them repetitively and making life difficult. This baby handles upwards of 70 clients at all times no problem instant switching so far not a problem. there is also a diverse wired Netwerk with over 20 wired clients through switches all over multiple building property. This literally doubled my Starlink speed and I had no idea that my old router was holding back access speed. I literally just had the fastest Starlink speed test I’ve ever had at close to 300 Mb download. See photo. Last week I couldn’t get over 50 Mb it is sad that old riders don’t tell you when they are hurting

This is a review to the ASUS AX5700 WiFi 6 Gaming Router (RT-AX86S) – Dual Band Gigabit Wireless Internet Router. Router arrived well packaged, easy assembly and good secure default installation and setup configuration for non-technical users. The user interface (UI) is intuitive and well designed. I use it as the primary router for a mesh installation with RT-AC68U nodes VIA wireless backhaul. The ability to easily prioritize functions and manage the nodes is a nice feature. The default settings for switching devices between nodes based on signal levels can be adjusted to the administrators preferences. I find the VPN feature useful when traveling. Several VPN options are available through the UI. For those who wish, Telnet and SSH can be enabled to manage the router. The router supports IPV6 and has a single 2GB LAN port. I dont use it for gaming, so the gaming settings were unnecessary for me. I also dont the use Alexa feature to manage the router, so didnt enable it. I do use the ASUS router app occasionally, which allows me to monitor or manage the router with the Android app VIA VPN. Firmware has been rock solid, with no drops, hiccups or reboots required between updates. Node firmware updates are controlled from the primary.

This is another solid router from ASUS. Was not able to test overall bandwidth beyond 1GB/sec as the AT&T fiber modem/router does not have 2GB capable output even when I bought 2GB service. This is a limit of the AT&T equipment, ASUS states the WAN connection on this router to be 2GB capable. I do believe the AT&T unit can deliver 2GB per second as I can push it through multiple connections, but the Ethernet ports on the router max out at 1GB/sec each so be aware that delivering 2GB/sec to the WAN port on this router may be difficult to do with your provider.

Great coverage and excellent speeds. I had originally purchased the zen Wi-Fi mesh, but was not getting desirable speeds. Speeds doubled with this router and coverage is excellent in large home.

Replaces a DLink router I had which had terrible wifi performance for some reason as well as connection problems. I bought this because I had another ASUS router that also performed like a champ. So, so far this new ASUS is working as I expect. Wired and wireless access working perfectly. No complaints.

Got the box and it was unsealed. I have no issue with new products that had the box opened if everything is still new inside. But this thing was dusty and dirty like it was sitting in the corner of someones room for years, with all the accessories crammed in the compartment on the side like they were in a hurry. Used products are fine just dont sell them as new and I will be returning. Cant comment on performance or features as I didnt even turn it on.

A new router? I think not! Apparently, I am the third owner of this supposedly new, problematic router. After configuring it, all seemed quite stable, no issues. This did not last long, as the signal would randomly drop out. My new cable modem, which I purposely replaced to ensure all was good with my system, did indicate an incoming internet signal. Just to be sure, I went through the time and effort to have a Spectrum tech check my incoming lines and connections. He said it all checked out and that the modem did not show any down time on service other than the reboots I had performed. Not long after the tech left my property, the issues began again. Last night, my final attempt was to change the channel of the 2.4ghz. Still, the interruptions continued. I finally gave up on this router and went to bed. This morning I made one more attempt, and while doing so, decided to check the router log. Low and behold, what did I discover?? The router has been up and running twice prior to my purchase. One time in September of last year and once in May. So it appears, two other owners have had issues with it and sent it back, but failed to clear the internal log. What a waste of time.

Received the item and hooked it up I paid for IT person to install it and he billed me for 3hrs and could not get the router to work. The blue internet port where you plug in internet was not working. So I send it back to Amazon and now it is going to take 30 days to get my refund. Will not make this mistake again. Buy all electronic devices at Best Buy for now on where I can return defective items without having to wait 30 days for refund then have to wait another 5 to 7 days for it to be put back on my card. This is not cool and now have almost $250 tied up and cant spend on Black Friday shopping.
