Easiest setup of any router I’ve ever experienced. The default software is straightforward and allows for complete customization of networks from a single interface. Port forwarding can be achieved with a few clicks. Router can support more bandwidth than my internet allows, leaving room for future ISP upgrade without needing to upgrade router.

Good signal strength and fast speeds across the house. Have about 30 items connected wirelessly to it.

The initial setup was straightforward enough, and the wifi part worked initially. When I went to upgrade the firmware, it loaded it but crashed the modem. I had to call my provider to have them reset it. Overall the wifi part works well. HOWEVER, if you plan on using the two USB ports, they do not work. If you plug in an external drive, it will give you fits, and eventually, you will not be able to access it. Please, stay away from this product. It is faulty.

Very like Asus good looking router. Wifis signal increase significantly after installed Asus Zaku II Edition as primary router. Then setup Ai-Mesh with Asus RT-AC86U gives wider wifi coverage for 2 floors mini house (150m) . Thanks to Amazon provided fast shipment services.

Rock Solid stable I have never had to reboot it. I run 13 Devices on it. I have had this router for about 6 months before I wrote this review. Much better than the TpLink had to reboot that router about once a week.

I was having problems getting one computer to connect so I called for help. I mite as well have been talking to a brick wall. The unit had been working fine before the change and this (PERSON) told me that I needed to change the cord going from the router to the computer I told her the router was down stairs and the computer was up stairs and It was working fine prior to the router exchange. I finely rebutted the computer and it worked just fine.

Router is fast, stable. Need to have access to it when it is used as a node in an Aimesh configuration. Price is good

I recently upgraded to the ASUS RT-AX86U Pro router from my previous ASUS RT-AC68U, and I couldnt be happier with the decision. With a total of 64 Wi-Fi devices in my home, stability and reliability were my primary concerns, and this router has exceeded my expectations on both fronts. First and foremost, the RT-AX86U Pro delivers rock-solid performance. The Wi-Fi connectivity is consistently strong throughout my entire home, even with multiple devices simultaneously streaming high-definition videos, gaming, and conducting online video calls. The routers dual-band capabilities ensure excellent coverage and minimal interference, allowing for seamless connectivity across all devices. One of the standout features of the RT-AX86U Pro is its powerful hardware. Equipped with a high-performance 2.0 GHz quad-core 64-bit processor and 1 GB of RAM, this router effortlessly handles the demanding needs of my extensive device network. I have noticed a significant improvement in overall network speed and responsiveness since switching to this router. It handles heavy network traffic without breaking a sweat, providing consistently fast and stable connections for all my devices. In terms of setup and configuration, ASUS has done an excellent job of making the process straightforward and user-friendly. The intuitive web interface and ASUSWRT firmware provide a wealth of customization options, allowing me to optimize my network according to my preferences. The built-in network monitoring tools, such as traffic analyzer and device manager, provide valuable insights into the usage patterns of my connected devices, empowering me to manage and prioritize bandwidth effectively. Another feature worth mentioning is the robust security suite offered by the RT-AX86U Pro. With AiProtection Pro powered by Trend Micro, the router provides comprehensive protection against online threats, including malicious websites, infected devices, and intrusions. This added layer of security has given me peace of mind knowing that my network and connected devices are safeguarded. Furthermore, the design of the RT-AX86U Pro is sleek and modern, with sturdy construction that ensures durability. The routers array of ports, including multiple Ethernet ports and USB connections, offers versatile connectivity options for various devices and peripherals. Although the RT-AX86U Pro comes with a higher price tag compared to some other routers on the market, the exceptional performance, reliability, and robust feature set it offers more than justify the investment, especially for users with a high number of connected devices. In conclusion, the ASUS RT-AX86U Pro router has proven to be a game-changer for me. Its outstanding stability, powerful hardware, comprehensive security features, and easy setup make it an excellent choice for users with a large number of Wi-Fi devices. Whether you are a heavy internet user, a gamer, or simply want a reliable and fast network, this router is a top-tier option that delivers on all fronts.

This router is unfortunately only a huge mega marketing hoax! It took us 5 hours!!! to set this junk up, and the need to call the tech support of ASUS, our ISP and the printer company (Brother) as the router would not connect any of our prnters at all! It took ASUS over an hour to find their Stupid (not Smart) WiFi option the causing trouble. be warned: Do NOT use this useless and dangerous function, it will mess up your network - Guarranteed. ASUS did not want to admit to this fault, but after having spent over an hours discussion with them, they damn well know. Shame on ASUS. Set up is a nightmare when you are not seperating your two WiFi bands, the 2.4G and the 5G, then you will be in trouble. Unfortunatey that is the default setup. Overall: A very disappointing device, and a lousy customer support. Every other router we owned (Netgear, TP-Link, etc) was setup and working properly in under 1 hours, this one cost us half a day of our valuable business time and a lot of hair we pulled over the stress to get that thing up and running.....
