I purchased an Ebtech 6 in 1 tester as I thought it would have a higher quality the Behringer CT100 as it is claimed to be Made in the USA. On the tester I received the RCA test jacks show a defective cable when its not. I paid the extra money for the Ebtech so I would not have the hassle of returning a product that should have been thoroughly tested before shipment. The return process with Amazon worked seamlessly, send it back collect and a credit appears on your credit card. If you take a close look at a image of a CT100, the XLR connections are slightly off set, exactly the same as the Ebtech. I believe that Ebtech uses the same offshore components as an assembled CT100 and markets as Made in the USA, which is fine if the assembly and testing is superior. I did not open the Ebtech for direct comparison to the CT100, so I may be wrong. I have order and received the Behringer CT100, it is well built and I am happy with my purchase. I had an opportunity to use it as I was trying a different set up with my mixer by using the auxiliary send and had problems making it work. So after reviewing the mixers manual I knew I had the correct connections so I started looking at my cables. My XLR to 1/4 TRS cable proved to be defective and I used the CT100 to confirm it. Now it seems obvious to start with cable testing before doubting myself.

i cant believe i have been without this diagnostic tool for such a long time. it is by far the greatest piece of equipment any electrically inclined person should have.

I bought this too calibrate my microphone preamps. I have my audio interface which has internal preamps, Aphex 230, GAP 73 MKIII, Behringer ultra Gain Mic Amplifier. This CT 100 worked for that purpose. I took one star off as I didnt know it needed double AA batteries to power it. Luckily I had a pack of extra batteries in my closet. I wouldnt know what all the other functions are fully for but what ever it is for I am sure it works.

This is totally awesome! I cant tell you how many cables I have thrown away over the decades.... Perhaps some of them were totally okay. NOW I will know! It works EXACTLY as advertised.... it even has a self test mode when you turn it on while pressing the reset button! Built like a tank! It reeks of the highest quality!! Very satisfied.

Very cool device. Weighty/rugged. Although its a pressed metal housing, it must be the most high-precision pressed metal housing in the world. The pics dont do it justice. And, it functions!

The led light pattern indicators for various types of cables is a bit hard to work with. I ended up taping a picture to the back that shows the correct patterns to look for. The BEST feature of all is the intermittent test!!! I have been able to remove several cables from our setup that failed this test and things have been running much better each week. For the price and the intermittent feature alone I would recommend this product.

Works great and with adapters, use it for coaxial bnc. Is heavy though.
