Wonderful way to make sure your cables work before using them. Sometime even out the box cables dont work.

I wanted a cable tester for my church, but didnt want to spend much money. This was cheap, and it does the trick - reveals whether cables are wired correctly or not. Tests almost every kind of AUDIO cable imaginable (doesnt test video cables, except for RCA). Most importantly, shows intermittency in the signal - if theres any kind of break or intermittence, lights come on a stay on until you reset them. For me, lifes too short to mess around with flaky cables, so if I can make that intermittent light come on, the cord goes in the trash.

This little device has already saved me time in configuring and trouble-shooting. I especially like that I can test TRS - XLR cables which can be a PAIN with a DVM.

This product loses one star because of a slight problem when testing XLR connectors.

This is a great tool to have with you when dealing with recording and PA audio system. It is easy to use for checking cables, and the tone generator is a real help when you dont know where you have a break in your cables. Highly Recommended

I have been involved with music more years than I care to admit. I fix cables, minor electronics, pretty much what ever it takes to keep the show going. This tester was one of the best value for money purchases I have made. You will never change the minds of the brand-name snobs, so, for the rest of you who look for value out of your money and not just the name that is stamped on a product, this is a great buy. I have used this many times to test cables and tone out connections, it is simple to use. Behringer, still proving reliable doesnt mean un-affordable.
