Bell Mens Star/Vortex/RS-1 and Revolver Helmet Faceshield, One Size, Dark Smoke

Helmet was still in good shape but I had scratched the shield badly thru normal wear and tear. Easy replacement.

Even though I am using an older vortex helmet this still fits and functions like brand new.

This shield is great. I got the Dark Gold color, and it is a little more blue/gold depending on the angle, but personally, I like it. It is a little easy to get fingerprints et al on it, but I think that would happen with any mirrored shield. Its not TOO dark that it cant be used in twilight hours, but definitely too dark for anything less than a very well lit street at night. Bell did a very good job with the newer release system on their STAR/RS-1/etc. shields. Being able to take one off and put the other on in 15 seconds is great. No tools required, just pop it off and click it on. I will update eventually with how well the finish holds after a couple riding seasons.

Snaps in perfectly on my Qualifier helmet and gives me a more sporty look.

Will be returning because it is not approved for road use in the USA. Which is unfortunate because the visor works well otherwise.

The Dark Smoke visor snaps easily into position on the Bell Qualifier helmet and provides adequate dimming in sunny days. I was pleased 100% until I happened actually read the warning letter in the box for once. It states that WARNING, FOR EUROPE ONLY. This visor is NOT HOMOLOGATED. This means that it does not satisfy one or more requirements of the safety standard currently in your country. It also means that this visor is NOT LEGAL for use on public roads. It can only be used on private race tracks and at your own risk. Pretty bummed.

Loved this visor; however, it feel from my handle bar onto the smooth garage floor and scratched off the iridium on an entire side. $70 down the drain :( Dark gold is not the color either, very teal. Ended up purchasing the dark silver and love so far. These provide more sun protection than the dark smoke I have too.
