nice tape measures really well made from black and decker

This is going to be great for my dad that is paralyzed on the left side. Finally something that he can control with one hand! Thanks black and decker.

The tape does not retract at all as the lever seems to just not be working. I realized this too late for the return window, wish I could still get some sort of customer support as this item is clearly defective. Otherwise, it’s still pretty heavy and bulky compared to others I’ve used.

Good tape measure, but the tape is difficult to pull out. Also, a bit heavy.

Although in theory I shun anything that would put imperial over metric, the truth is that for general shop use, I just cant get around having to use the stupid old English system, so...what can i do but learn to add fractions and spend lots of extra time ensuring I dont make mistakes? Anyway...just be aware first and foremost that unlike most tape measures, there are no mm along the bottom.

Works fine and had a good price

The lip at the end of the tape moved, so you can accurately measure inside and outside of the box. Very sturdy, the tape doesnt kink. It is easy to lock into position and strong enough to rewind, yet weak enough to not rip off part of your hand as it does so!

The Beyond by Black and Decker 12 ft and 16 ft tape measures beat the heck out of my old Stanley Powerlock tapes. No more fumbling for that lock on the front, only to have the tape retract in the process. The Black and Decker measure tape has a tape release on the bottom that allows the tape to move when depressed and automatically locks it when released. Its effortless to use, especially for one person. The ergonomic rubber grip on the top makes the tape measure easy to hold, and the build quality is durable. I dont feel that if I drop the tape off of a 16ft ladder on concrete that it is going to shatter. Get rid of your old measuring tapes and buy the Beyond by Black and Decker!
