Best umbrella Ive ever owned. When fully open, the material is very taut, which gives it a very nice, high quality feel. It just feels rugged and well built. I have not yet had an opportunity to test it in really strong wind, but so far its been great. No complaints.

On Day 2 of use, the handle fell off upon opening. It FELL off. This was not an occasion where I could tell that I was exerting too much force. I was exerting the minimal force necessary to OPEN the umbrella (i.e. use it). And it FELL off. This was not an occasion where a large gust of wind caught the umbrella and the sudden exertion of meteorological conditions brought the umbrella to its breaking point. No. This was opening the umbrella. And it FELL off. If I could simply snap the handle back on, I would still return the umbrella but I would likely chalk it up to being a defective unit. However, the handle could not even be snapped back into place. Instead, the handles absence revealed the shoddy construction that I suspect is consistent among all units. This umbrella is truly overpriced garbage. It most certainly is not Strong & ... Built to Last as represented. The merchants representation that it is Light, however, is accurate. Probably because it is made of garbage. Make sure to save the box to make the return easier.

Best umbrella I have ever had. If I had purchased this one first, I could have saved a couple of hundred dollars on crappy umbrellas.

Ive had all kinds of experiences with umbrellas, and this one wins. Id recently purchased (and promptly returned) a WindPro umbrella that turned into a portable birdbath after five steps in mild winds. When I received this umbrella I knew from the moment I picked it up that it was solid and strong. It took a little more effort to open than other umbrellas do, but the force required to lock it out keeps it from inverting in strong winds. I cant say Ive had it in hurricane winds yet, but the storms its weathered thus far leave me confident that itll stand up to a gale. The blunt tips are also quite nice, since I tend to walk with the family and dont want to put any eyes out. This is a great umbrella, bot functionally and stylistically!

This is a nice umbrella. It is clear some work went into the design, and I was drawn in by the claims of meticulous engineering and I dont doubt that the shape and structure are well thought out for an umbrella. But this design is betrayed by poor use of material. The struts (I think correct term is ribs based on some googling) are made of a stiff plastic, which gave me pause when I first opened it. It worked very well for the first few rains. However, recently I opened it to see the plastic hinges near the top of the umbrella ribs had snapped. Considering it just leaned against the wall when it wasnt in use, this was strange. Given the price of this umbrella I am very disappointed in the material quality despite seemingly good design. I really doubt this is a fluke in my umbrella, and I think I will buy umbrellas that do not make load bearing components out of plastic. Maybe Blunt has a line with metal construction?

Very sturdy mechanism and overall excellent quality but mine came with a defect (it would not stay open) so I returned it. I will be ordering one that retracts so I can easily put the wet umbrella on the driver side car mat.

A durable and well made product, I ordered a 2nd one for my wife.

The umbrella works fairly well but it is expensive. It is light and balanced. I havent had to use it under windy conditions yet. The part that was disappointing is that the pictures clearly showed that a matching sleeve with a carry strap came with it. The product showed up without the strap. Customer service has been trying to get a sleeve sent for nearly 4 weeks. The whole thing has been dissapointing consider the premium you pay for the umbrella.
