Not a bad tool for the price. To test the accuracy of the gauge I took some known size nuts and bolts and it was spot on. The pitch gauge threads are a little shallow when you place the bolt threads up against the plastic threads but they are readable and accurate. I hot glued 2 small magnets on the backside so I can place it on the side of my metal tool chest. I chase all of my threads with a thread chaser to clean up the threads. This will definitely come in handy and eliminate the guesswork.

Instead of the blue Rockler brand gauge shown, I received a white Drillspot brand gauge with a large label covering the gauge markings. The label was the kind with permanent adhesive. Attempting to remove the label left most of the label and adhesive stuck to the gauge. Using a chemical to remove the label might remove the painted gauge markings or damage the plastic. I contacted the seller (Drillspot) to give them a chance to fix the problem before I left negative feedback. They declined to take any corrective action and said to let Amazon deal with the problem.

This has way too few sizes considering how large it is. Separate SAE and Metric versions with more complete sizing would be more useful.

So simple, yet so perfect. This is great, for teaching kids how to sort out screws, including the difference between metric and standard.

Its fine for identifying quickly the difference between a 1/2 inch bolt and a 1/4 inch, but when you have a metric bolt and an imperial bolt that are both very close in size, poor tolerances on the holes can make it really tough to tell the difference. In the end, I use this sometimes for basic measurements, but if you want to know for sure, just get a caliper.

This is good for getting a general idea of your screw/bolt diameter, but the holes are very sloppy. For example, is your bolt 8mm or 5/16? You cant tell because it wiggles around in both of the holes. The thread gauge is pretty worthless and is off by at least 1 size. I regret purchasing this unit.
