Dryer sheets were pretty amazing when they first came out. They did everything that liquid softener did and were super easy to use in comparison. I never looked back. The scent was a different matter; the smell was sometimes overpowering and way too fake floral. I quickly switched to unscented when they were introduced. As other scents came out over the years I stuck with unscented until I had the chance to try these Bounce for Men Pure Sport. The timing of receiving the box was right to toss a Men Pure Sport sheet into a dryer load of bedclothes. Hours later, when I pulled them from the dryer and made beds, I liked what I smelled, but was at a loss to identify any specific scent. Later, pulling back the sheets and crawling into our freshly made bed, I really caught a good whiff and thought spices but, when questioned if any scent was detected, my other half said citrus. Maybe citrus and spice? Either way, it is nice and not overpowering. However, regarding the name, Men Pure Sport, nothing about the scent made me think it would have a gender specific appeal. The final verdict is that we thoroughly enjoyed the manly(?) scented (whatever scent it is) sheet and it worked to soften our bedclothes every bit as well as our everyday unscented Bounce sheets. I will look to buy these when this box runs out.

These dryer sheets have a really nice fragrance to them. I really wouldnt consider it too masculine. My husband and sons like the fragrance, but I like it too. I was worried I would have to separate my clothes from theirs when I did the laundry but there really is no reason to. These sheet smell nice. And, of course, the main reason I use dryer sheets in the first place is to control static cling and these sheets do a good job of that.

I want to cry because I cant find these any more. I HATE fake flower smell and fresh linen also smells gross. I dont care if it says its for men. Its the best dryer sheet out there. You can keep your funeral fake flower dryer sheets.

The scent itself is quite nice. My entire laundry room smells like a fancy mens cologne counter. However, I was pretty disappointed that the smell didnt really transfer to the clothes themselves. I honestly couldnt detect much of a fragrance at all on the dried clothes. I suppose this could be a good thing if youre washing your whole familys clothes and dont want your baby smelling like a grown man. I however, was expecting the scent to stick around a bit more. I may just hang up a few in my husbands closet instead to help keep things smelling fresh.

Yeah, if you can name the commercial, youre probably at least as old as I am. (Irish Spring.) And back then, it was cute to have a girl in the commercial winking-ly hinting that shes going to use the he-man product. Today, maybe not so much, but then women do continue to go after things (initially) marketed to guys, whether its menswear-style shirts and boy shorts or traditionally masculine fragrances. My favorite current perfume, from Tokyo Milk, has woodsy and tobacco notes. Neither I nor my husband (who has to live with me) like cloying, strong floral scents. This Bounce Pure Sport Dryer sheet has, guess what, woodsy and - I think its tobacco flower (but maybe some other subtle floral) and smoky notes. It doesnt smell to high heaven of perfume or laundry soap. Its also subtle enough to just leave a bit of scent on freshly dried laundry. Thats a real change (THANK YOU!) from what Im used to, but also a nice alternative to scent free products that, although best for severe allergy sufferers, leave laundry too often smelling more not dirty than actually clean. But Im still chuckling over the ad copy here. Like washing (my) clothes at Teddy Roosevelts hunting lodge? Somebodys been watching too many of those Old Spice commercials. No feminist rant here. My outlook on gender roles too often mirrors Delta Burkes old line from Designing Women: The man should have to kill the bug! But cmon, P&G, Woodland Retreat Bounce or some such would get my attention a lot faster than something I might assume smells aggressively of mens cologne. In any case, I see this currently out of stock on Amazon and think I may have to scout some stores, just in case this turns out to be a limited edition. Beats the heckoutta the usual scents.
