> 3 dayThis is great if you really like labelling things and making present ribbons and name tapes for your childrens clothes. I do think you need to be a serious crafter or have a lot of children to make name tapes for to make this worthwhile. This is because to print the tapes you need to but cassettes (and yes they look very like the tape recorder cassettes of yore) that contain ribbon and ink for printing. The tapes seem to range in price from £6 to about £30 (for a 2 or 3 coloured tape pack). You can buy ribbon tape in a wide range of colours, transparent tape and iron on tape from the Brother website (and also from some other websites) so its not that cheap to produce your tapes but it does produce a wide range of results. It comes with one ribbon cassette to get you started. It takes 6AAA batteries (not supplied) but you can buy a plug in adapter for about £15 if you use the printer a lot. It is easy to use - you take the back off, slot in the cassette. replace the cover, select the font you want to use and off you go and you cut the ribbon when you have sufficient length. Its kind of fun but a bit too pricey (£39.99 atm) if you think you might only use it for clothing tapes and /or the odd personalised gift ribbon. It would be a good thing for a craft group or group of parents to have or someone who crafts and gifts a lot. It seems very retro in this day and age to have a handheld labeller. It is fun though except I found the qwerty keyboard a bit trying to use with my stubby fingers

> 3 dayThis little ribbon printer is so easy to use - just put the six aaa batteries in, load up the ribbon cartridge, select the font and type the message... Its an easy way to make your wrapped gifts look very classy, and although I have printed some as clothes tags, I have a slight doubt about the life span of the printing when washed. A 9v mains adaptor is available, but not supplied. The colours of the machine are a bit pregnancy test, but dont let that put you off. The ribbon cartridges arent too expensive and come in a wide range of colours.

> 3 dayThis label printer is fun to use and allows you to unleash your creativity in fun ways. Initially I was interested in a label printer for jars and pots, boring I know but I like organisation. I didnt actually realise that it had different fonts and patterns available as I was just looking for something sturdy. With this machine you can either print individual custom labels or you can print a continous label with its own unique design, that looks pretty good as a ribbon on gifts. Im still playing with it and trying to find things around the house to use it on as it is a fun gadget to have around. I should have bought one years ago!
