Greater than one weekSoldering irons are a prime example of one of those items that is worth a little bit extra for the ease and convenience. Having used many brands throughout my solder years, Ive not found a single competitor to Hakkos line up. The versions above this are far beyond my price range. But for a hundred bucks, you will not find a better station for your needs.

> 3 dayChanging the default temperature setting is impossible without the user manual. Very annoying to change even with the manual...may take up to an hour to figure out how to customize the settings. The manual was not included with the unit, or easily found on the Hakko website. The manual is however easily to find on the Hakko USA website. Once configured, it is a nice entry level hobby iron.

> 3 dayI liked the machine. Much better than the cheap all-in-one irons I used to buy. Really helped with the quality of my solders as well. Used it to create my own xlr cables. Much cheaper to do and I got a free soldering iron I can used for other projects. DIY it!

> 3 dayThis is my first soldering iron and it works really well. It heats up in like 15 seconds or so, and when Im done it stores away easily back into the original packaging. I think it probably would be annoying if you had to change your temperature a lot and do a ton of temperature adjustments, but I almost never change mine.

> 3 daywish the temperature was adjustable by knob rather than buttons. also wish the display showed current temperature. once its warmed up, it only shows the setpoint. Opposite of a Weller.
